I want to ask about stem cell therapy course. can BHMS graduate apply to this course? what is scope for it? and where are the colleges located for same one?

Prateek kumar 6th Dec, 2021

Dear student,

I am afraid that BHMS graduate can not pursue the career to be a stem cell therapist as the eligibility criteria are,

The common misconception about the field of Stem Cell Therapy is that having a foundational degree in Regenerative Medicine is needed to pursue a career in it. Since the specialization is offered at the master’s level, all you need to do is to study any of the Life Science courses at the bachelor’s level.

  • You can pursue a master’s degree in Regenerative Medicine after BSc, BPharma, BSc Biotechnology, BDS, BVSc, MBBS , etc.
  • If you have a strong understanding of Bio-medicine, you are a suitable candidate for the specialization courses.
  • While Australia, Europe, the US, and the UK are pioneering the research in the domain, the universities in there are a perfect place to study the highly specialized course.
  • A degree from a reputed university is set to guarantee you a successful career as a Stem Cell Therapist.

Role of a stem cell therapist:

  • As a Stem Cell Therapist, you can either work as a medical practitioner or as a researcher or scientist.
  • You will be carrying out stem cell treatments and advising patients on the topical applications of stem cell-related medicines.
  • Further, throughout the course of the treatment, you will be required to check its impact on treating the issue, any side effects, and follow-up with the patients to ensure that they have successfully recovered.
  • As a Stem Cell Scientist or Researcher, you will be working on the research and development of possible treatments and medicines.
  • You will be focusing on analysing how stem cells can transform into the body’s tissues and then manipulating the conditions accordingly to grow cells for usable organs and tissues and carrying out suitable experiments on finding the right treatments for cell division ailments such as cancer or birth defects, etc.

The top universities in India for Stem Cell Therapy:

  1. Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru
  2. Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) Hyderabad
  3. Indian Institute of Technology, Madras
  4. National Centre for Biological Science (NCBS), Bengaluru
  5. National Institute of Nutrition and National Institute of Immunology
  6. National institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Mumbai
  7. Manipal Institute of Regenerative Medicine (MIRM), Bengaluru
  8. National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune

BHMS FROM WEST BENGAL IS IT WORTH TO DO.I MEAN MY FRIENDS ARE GETTING LUCRATIVE SALARY BY DOING MBBS FROM WEST BENGAL.BUT IN BHMS SALARY IS VERY LOW BESIDES I DO NOT WANT TO DO PRIVATE PRACTICE. WHAT SALARY I CAN GET AS BHMS GRADUATE IN KOLKATA

Subhrajit Mukherjee 14th Jan, 2022

See Allopathic Medicine is the most preferred medical practice in todays world. As a result, the requirement of the Allopathic Practitioners are increasing and as there are demand of the subject, they are paid great.

Now BHMS is the 2nd most preferred medical procedure. But its not the emergency medicine science and the treatment procedure are long term. As a result, the BHMS doctors are getting low fees. I would say if you have done BHMS from other state also, the case is the same. I would recommend you to complete your Masters and then try for professorship programs in the Homeopathic Medical colleges. Also you can join the Homeopathic Medical companies such as Hannehmann & Co. , Seth & Co. , SBL etc which are popular brands and they recruit good amount of doctors as the lead researcher. If you go for it, then you have a good salary as well.

Yaseera Bhombal 2nd Dec, 2021

Hello,

Gynecology and Obstetrics (G&O) is a subspecialty of medicine that incorporates both of these fields of medicine to provide women with comprehensive reproductive organ care before, during, and after pregnancy. It combines the medical and surgical abilities needed to care for a woman throughout her life.

The following are the requirements for enrolling in the DGO course:

Candidates with a bachelor's degree are encouraged to apply.

  • A qualified 10+2 level from a recognised institution is required.
  • At the 10+2 level, you must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. English is a required course.
  • A minimum of 50 percent in the aggregate is required.

Those who are interested in pursuing a master's degree should contact:

  • A medical degree (MBBS) is required.
  • Must have a minimum of a 50 percent aggregate in MBBS.
  • It is required that you have completed a one-year internship.

So this eligibility criteriaa makes it clear that the BHMS candidate cannot pursue DGO Course

MY NEET RANK IS 105640 (GENERAL CATEGORY).CAN I GET GOVERNMENT BHMS COLLEGE IN WEST BENGAL(STATE DOMICILE) OR THROUGH ALL INDIA QUOTA.

dishtiv 11th Jan, 2022
Hello aspirant!
Hope you are doing well.

It is difficult to predict exactly whether you will get a government Bhms seat Or not at this rank because cutoff changes every year due to many factors.

According to last year's data for general category,
National Institute of Homeopathy, Calcutta - 513 marks

And for all india quota, 490+ marks are needed to get any government homeopathy college.

So it is difficult to get government homeopathy college at these marks.
But yes you can try for private homeopathy colleges.

career options after bhms.. can we became gynecologist after bhms

Mansi Bhatt 2nd Dec, 2021

Hello student!

Yes, after completing your BHMS, you will be qualified to apply for a diploma in gynaecology. The Diploma in Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGO) is a three-year full-time Diploma program.

The candidate must have completed an MBBS, BAMS, or BHMS program with at least 50% marks from a medical college approved by the Medical Council of India.

However, the curriculum includes obstetrics and gynaecology as key courses, same like in MBBS, so postgraduate study is not accessible. Because BHMS and MBBS are two completely distinct systems. There is no way to switch over.

As far as career options are considered here are few options a BHMS graduate can pursue:

  • Doctor of Medicine in the Practice of Homeopathy
  • Homeopathic Pharmacy Doctor of Medicine
  • Homoeopathic Doctor of Medicine
  • Homoeopathic Repertory Doctor of Medicine
  • Homoeopathic Psychiatry Doctor of Medicine
  • Homoeopathic Pediatrics Doctor of Medicine

There are many other careers you can pursue too, to know more please do visit the link given below:

monstwerdash 2nd Dec, 2021

Hello there ,

Hope you are doing well . See,with a score of 303 it doesn't seem possible that you'll get a chance to pursue MBBS,BDS,BVSc,BAMS or BHMS from a government college . You atleast needed to score 500+ given that you belong from the OBC category.

However ,if you want you can try for private colleges or a seat through the management quota.

You can have details of the colleges you can get into based on your NEET AIR and category both through AIQ and SQ of your state  from the link given below :

What was the last year cut off for bhms in deemed universities for SC category?

Ritvik Baweja 2nd Dec, 2021

In order to get admission in BHMS or BAMS course, aspirants have to qualify the NEET by securing the required minimum cutoff scores as stipulated by NTA.

Last year's cutoff was

Category NEET Cut off percentile NEET 2020 cutoff scores
General 50th 720-147
General-PH 45th 146-129
SC/ST/OBC 40th 146-113
SC/ST/OBC-PH 40th 128-113

This was just the minimum cutoff , however you must know that these minimum marks would not be sufficient to fetch you a seat in a deemed or a government BHMS college.

The last year cut off for BHMS was around 350-400 marks and also this year the cut off will go  high because marks fetched are very high.

Hope for the best

I got 399 marks in neet 2021. Can i get bhms seat in ntruhs with OBC category? I am from Telangana.

monstwerdash 10th Jan, 2022

Hello there,

Hope you are doing well. See, as you have qualified NEET UG-2021 you can definitely participate in the Andhra Pradesh state quota counselling but with a score of 399 getting a government BHMS seat won't be possible for you despite having an OBC category. You atleast needed to score 500+ for the same .

You can try for private or management quota seats if you wish to.
