The new question paper/ marks pattern is mentioned below:

• In theory paper of each subject, objective questions or MCQs will now carry 50 percent marks. 100 marks question paper will contain 60 MCQs, students need to answer just 50 of them. 70 marks question paper will contain 42 MCQs, students need to answer just 35. While, out of 30 MCQs, 25 need to be answered in a 50 marks question paper. Theory paper of Physics, Chemistry or Biology carries 70 marks. Out of 70 marks, MCQs will carry 35 marks.
• Number of 2 marks questions has been increased. In theory paper of 70 marks, 18 two marks questions will be asked. you need to answer only 10 out of them. 100 marks question paper will contain 25 short answer questions, students need to answer only 15.
• 8 and 6 long answer type questions for 5 marks will be asked in 100 marks and 70 marks question paper respectively. Students need to answer just 5 and 3 long answer type questions out of 8 and 6 questions.
• In language papers like Hindi, English, etc., questions carrying more than 5-marks will also be asked.

With 72% marks in marks it is difficult for you to come in top 20% . 72 percent is not a bad score . If you want to take drop for JEE Mains then you can take drop easily. And there you must have to study very hard to get a good score in both JEE and 12th.

In my opinion you must take the drop for JEE and alongwith that you must fill the 12th improvement form . When you will be preparing for JEE then automatically your 12th boards syllabus will cover up. And when your boards exam come next year , you will have to perform very good. And also you can give JEE Mains and Advance the same year. By this you will cover both 12th and JEE in a single year .

If you are referring to BSEB class12 examination pattern, then the core subjects in Commerce stream offered by BSEB Board include Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies and, Mathematics, Hindi and English. Each paper carries 100 marks, including the theory paper and practical assessment. To qualify the board exam students need to know the subject well. Similarly Bihar board has also proposed a reduction in syllabus of class12th to the state government but till now the approval has not been given for reduction. To join any IIIT, be it IIIT Hyderabad, a candidate should score score at least 75% (aggregate marks) in class XII (or any equivalent examination). The aggregate marks for reserved categories (SC, ST, PwD, OBC etc) should be at least 65%. If marks are not taken into consideration the candidate must come in the top 20% of the qualifying candidates.
