hello sir/mam i have a dout, i score 72.2% in 12th class from (Bihar Board)in 2022 .can i prepare for jee mains+advanced. from another certatia of top 20 percentile. if i crack jee mains+advanced in 2023. will i get admission in iit, nits. Sir please give reply.

Shubham Dhane 22nd Mar, 2022

Hello,

There is no minimum percentage required in your 10+2 level to give JEE mains and advanced. You will be eligible to give both. The 75% criteria was for admissions in NITs and IITs but due to the COVID situation, the officials have removed that criteria this year too. So you will be eligible for admissions in NITs with your JEE main score and IITs with your JEE Advanced score.  The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the JEE Main 2022 session 1 exam. JEE Main 2022 session 1 exam will be conducted on April 21, 24, 25, 29 and May 1 & 4. Keep an eye on the below link or the official website for the latest information.

sir 2022 mai bihar board class 12th mai 61% laaya hu or mai 1saal ke baad jee mains or advance ki exam de sakta hu

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 17th Mar, 2022

Hi

Guessing 2022 as your 12th passing year.

Yes, you are eligible for next year i. e jee main 2023 with 61 % . Also, for btech there's no minimum percentage requirement in 12th to be eligible for jee main .

One can give JEE Mains entrance examination for a maximum of 3 consecutive years starting from the year of passing 12th board examination.

Now, your 12th passing year is 2022

So, you

  • A re eligible for jee main 2022

  • eligible jee main 2023

  • eligible jee main 2024 as well .

For your reference,

Jee main eligibility criteria is given below-

---------------------------) Qualification required :- to be eligible  for JEE mains you need 10+2/equivalent qualification from a recognised board.

Course

Required Criteria based on Class 12th  or equivalent

B.E/B.Tech

Passed qualifying examination with Physics and   Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of :-

----)Chemistry

-----)Biotechnology

-----)Biology

----) Technical Vocational subject.

B.Arch

Passed qualifying examination with

-----)Mathematics,

-----)Physics,

------) Chemistry

To be eligible for B. Arch , you have at least 50% in aggregate of Physics, chemistry and Maths and also 50 % in overall in 12th/equivalent

B.Planning

Passed qualifying examination with Mathematics

You must have at least 50% marks in Maths in 12th and also 50% in 12th /equivalent overall.

-------------------------) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of appearing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible  for JEE mains 2022 you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent  in 2022 or should have passed it in 2021 or 2020

-------------------------) There is no age limit to be eligible

-------------------------) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Main for BE /Btech.

But yes,

To be eligible for BE/BTech  in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category  or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category or needs to be in top 20 percentile of their board examination .

IMPORTANT NOTE :-  This minimum percentage barrier of 75 % - 65% for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs  has been lifted off for jee main 2022 . It means to be eligible all you need to be eligible is to have at least passed 12th . If for 2023 the criteria of 75 % for general returns back for nits etc then it will be noticed by nta in information brochure

For detailed information about jee main eligibility criteria  go through our page, the link for which is provided below

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-eligibility-criteria

Coming to jee advanced ,

Which category are you from?

75 % requirement is there to be eligible for jee advanced while for sc/st it's only 60 %.

With 61 you are eligible for jee advanced 2023 only if you are sc/st otherwise not eligible. But if 75% requirement is not there for jee advanced 2023 as well like this year then you will be eligible

JEE  advanced eligibility criteria is given below :-

---------------------) Qualification required :- One needs to pass 10+2/ or equivalent with the following 5 subjects:-

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Mathematics

  • A language

  • Any subject other than listed above

Those appearing for 10+2/equivalent are also eligible.

---------------------) Minimum marks in 12th /equivalent :-  you need to pass your class 12th with at least 75% marks in aggregate in class 12 if belong to general or obc category or at least 65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 examination.

††† IMPORTANT NOTE :- Considering pandemic in order to give relaxation. The minimum percentage barrier of 75 % - 65% has been lifted off for jee advanced 2022. It means all you need to be eligible is to have at least passed 12th .

----------------------) 12th /equivalent passing year :-  You can give JEE advanced examination for the maximum of consecutive 2 years starting from the year of appearing for your 12th examination i. e to be eligible for JEE advanced 2022 your 12th board examination appearing year should be either 2022 or 2021

††† IMPORTANT NOTE:-

Considering pandemic, there's one time measure for students who had passed 12th in 2021 & 2020.

  • For 2021 passed :- Those 2021 passed students who had qualified jee main 2021 and had registered for jee advanced 2021 but couldn't appear in the examination are directly eligible for jee advanced 2022 without appearing in jee main 2022.

  • For 2020 passed :- 2020 12th passed students are also eligible for  jee advanced 2022 after qualifying jee main 2022 provided they have appeared in only one of 2020 or 2021 jee advanced or none of them.

Details about it is available at:- https://news.careers360.com/jee-advanced-2022-extra-attempt-iit-entrance-exam-candidates-who-missed-in-2020-2021-jeeadv-ac-in

-----------------------) There is upper age limit, according to which to be eligible for jee advanced 2022, you should be born on or after 1st October 1997. There is 5 years of age relaxation for SC, ST and PwD so candidates of SC/ST /PWD needs to be  born on or after October 1, 1992.

-----------------------) you must qualify JEE main  2022 to be eligible for jee advanced 2022.

sir Im belonging obc i score74.4in bihar board in 2022can i fill iit jee advance and mains please give me reply

Shubham Dhane 17th Mar, 2022

Hello,

Yes, you will be eligible to give JEE Mains exam and JEE Advanced. The criteria to give JEE mains exam is not top 20 percentile or 75% aggregate. You can still give JEE mains even if you are not able to score 75% in your 10+2 level or even if you are not in the top 20. The minimum 75% aggregate was for admissions in NITs and IITs which the officials have removed due to the COVID situation.  Top 2,50,000 successful candidates on the basis of JEE Main 2022 exam will be eligible to attempt the JEE Advanced exam. Keep an eye on the official website or the link below for the latest information.
