Hii,
Select government colleges or universities if you want to study biotechnology at a reduced cost. Among the excellent and reasonably priced ones are: All India Institute of Medical Sciences, or AIIMS
University of Hyderabad
Delhi University
BHU (Banaras Hindu University)
JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi) These universities offer high-quality education at affordable costs. Another option is to look up local state government colleges.
Hello Satvika,
As a PCB student from Telangana who did not complete the Maths Bridge Course prior to commencing a B.Tech in Biotechnology, it is typically possible to take the course in your 1st year of B.Tech. Most engineering colleges offer the Maths Bridge Course, or similar course, during the first year of the program to help students improve and reinforce math fundamentals, especially for students who do not have a strong background in maths.
You can check with your college's academic office or department for the exact dates, etc, but the course will generally be delivered very early in the program so that a student can progress through their B.Tech course work without any issues.
Yes, a Biology, Physics, Chemistry (BPC) student can take a mathematics bridge course after joining a B. Tech Biotechnology program. Many universities and engineering colleges offer bridge courses in mathematics for students without a mathematics background. Bridge courses help to give you the required mathematics foundation needed for biostatistics, bioinformatics and process engineering, which typically form part of biotechnology courses. You should clarify with your college/university about the bridge course.
Hi, Nandhini,
Here are the steps for applying for BSc Biotechnology course at Nizam College:
With a VITEEE rank of 24,690, it is hard to get B.Tech Biotechnology at VIT Vellore because the cutoff is usually below 20,000. But you have a better chance at VIT Bhopal or VIT-AP campuses, where cutoffs are higher. You can also try through management quota, but fees may be more. It’s best to join counseling and apply to all VIT campuses and other colleges to increase your chances.
