HOPE THIS HELPS
hi,
see the qualifying degree would be mentioned by NITS and students who satisfy the qualifications will only eligible for admission. however if it mentioned by particular institute that m.tech biotechnology eligibility criteria is b. tech only then you may not eligible to apply for those institute. however many m.sc passed candidates are eligible to apply for m.tech, so you should participate in ccmt counselling with the gate score you have. you may have to change the stream if none of the nits offers m.tech in biotechnology to m.sc graduates.

Hi Aspirant,
As per the previous year analysis and cutoffs , to get a seat through KCET for Biotechnology in colleges like RV College of Engineering a rank of 3-4K is good, for MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology it is 6-7k ,for Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering it is around 11k. These are all based on General quota which may change depending on different types of quota and categories. Also it may fluctuate depending on different colleges.
So for more clarifications regarding the cutoffs and ranking refer the link below,

Hello,
Biotechnology and biomedical engineering both are different subjects.
Biotechnology is mainly about the biology and technical combination. In this stream you have to explore biology in technology. You can develop new system by living cells, organism etc. The synthetic growth hormone or any kind of vitamin related food can develop by this Biotechnology process. Normally 4 types of biotechnology present are medical biotechnology, agriculture biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, environmental biotechnology. You can pursue this course in BSC study and in technological like BTech Biotechnology study.
Biomedical engineering mainly focus on advances in technology and medicine to develop new devices and equipment for improving human health. It's basically related to new medicines and clinical research. So this course offered only engineering course. It's also known as traditional biotechnology.
If you want to study about the living cells and organism for development then choose biotechnology. But if you choose the development of medical equipment for human health then choose biomedical engineering. Now choice is totally yours.
All the best.
NET UGC is for PhD examination. And biomedical engineering means biology, medicine, mathematics, chemistry all in one subject. It's very interesting subject.
You want to choose 2nd paper of NET then you can choose bioinformatics, bio instrumentation, genomics, bioclinic etc. It will be more use full for you. Now choice is yours. Which is more comfortable for you, you can choose this subject.
Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned the rank that you have got in srmjeee phase 1 2021 that is 7k. In this rank you would even get cse in cyber security specialisation. So, you can be rest assured that you will get biomedical engineering in main campus.
In the year 2019, I had got 8k rank and I was getting computer science in the main campus.
