Hello sir. I have got 80 in phy&chemi and 73 in maths. can I get admission in Sri Ramakrishna or PSG through counselling for biotech or biomedical engineering. My caste category(BC)

Venkatachalam M 22nd Jul, 2020

Hello Jessica, from your marks I calculated your cut-off which is 153/200. According to me, it is difficult to get into PSG with this cut-off. The competition to get into well reputed college is very high. Also, Sri Ramachandra college demands a much higher cut-off. But still you can try, lock these two as your first options during online counselling. I suggest you better call the admission office of SRC and ask your inquiry. Hope it was helpful.

sir please tell me what is the cut of mark for biomedical engineering

Madhuvarshini.R 16th Jul, 2020

Hello learner,

As per TNEA 2020 cut off, it is good to have decent cut off of 170+. And the cut off marks will not be the same for all the colleges. It'll vary accordingly as per its ranking. If you desire to get an admission in one of the top ranking colleges, at the minimum you must have 185+. Again your Category comes as a big picture. The cut off marks will vary in the descending order as per this criterion. General Category/OC/BC/SC/ST.

To hedge one's bets, in addition to your cut-off marks of 185+ it is  appreciable to have a decent TNEA rank.

Good Luck!

Is pcmb necessary for b tech in biomedical engineering?

mjaisinghani62 15th Jul, 2020
Hello aspirant

Biomedical engineering is a branch of Engineering focusing on Medical Sciences. Those students who want to work as Engineers in healthcare sector pursue biomedical engineering.. so you need to get into Engineering college to enroll yourself for the course B tech in biomedical engineering.

For admission to biomedical engineering it is must for a student to have passed xii Science with Physics, Chemistry, biology and mathematics compulsorily . Some private Institutes like SRM University, Ramchandra University accept PCB students too for b tech in biomedical engineering.

But for completing the course with perfection you need the knowledge of all four subjects PCMB.

Bio medical Engineering is a part of Electronics and instrumentation. 80% of syllabus is of Electronics and maths rest is biology . Instrumentation is a whole a lot of integration and differentiation and Trignometry. so the candidate pursuing this course must be strong in maths and as it is medical hence biology is also needed.

Hence those with B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in Electronics, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering can find jobs in these fields. Public-sector companies such as Instrumentation Ltd., Bharat Electronics Ltd. and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. provide job opportunities.

Instrumentation Engineering is the basis of mechatronics and robotics engineering. Its main objective is to ensure that systems and processes operate safely and efficiently.

Several institutions offer higher study facilities in Instrumentation and Instrumentation and Control Engineering or related branches such as Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
