sir if i failed in maths in hs from ahsec board can i give neet

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 29th Mar, 2022

Hi

You don't need to worry dear even if you have failed in maths

This is because,

Your marks in maths is not considered for Neet eligibility so it's completely ok even if you have failed in maths examination in your class 12th

You are still eligible for NEET examination provided you must have overall passed   with  5 subjects including physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English and your result status on your marksheet must be pass and

You must have got:-

  • at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category

  • at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

-------------------)  Age limit :-

  • Lower age limit:- to be eligible for neet  one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December in the year of appearing for the examination .

  • Upper age limit :-There's no upper age limit for NEET. Earlier there was upper age limit  of 25 years which was pending in supreme court, on 9th march 2022 NMC in its notice has removed upper age limit. For details about it checkout :- https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-number-of-attempts-and-age-limit

--------------------) There's no attempt limit for neet.

My daughter is the student of Maharashtra board. In jee form instead of Higher secondary certificate vocational course I selected Intermediate or two-year Pre-University exam conducted by a recognized Board/ University. Will this affect in anyway?

Arhana Chakraborty 29th Mar, 2022

The Pre-University examination is perfectly for the 11th & 12th course in South Indian State such as Karnataka PU etc. But for Maharastra its Higher Secondary. So it may create problem, during the document verification of the candidate if she gets selected for any institute through JEE.

Now for the April & May attempts, the Correction window isn't applicable. I would recommend you to contact the helpline of JEE MAINS & get it discussed. They can provide you a detailed guidance:

https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/contact-us/

For more information regarding JEE MAINS form correction consider the link below:

I hope this helps. Wish you a great day!

  • For 2021 passed :- Those 2021 passed students who had qualified jee main 2021 and had registered for jee advanced 2021 but couldn't appear in the examination are directly eligible for jee advanced 2022 without appearing in jee main 2022.

  • For 2020 passed :- 2020 12th passed students are also eligible for  jee advanced 2022 after qualifying jee main 2022 provided they have appeared in only one of 2020 or 2021 jee advanced or none of them.

Details about it is available at:- https://news.careers360.com/jee-advanced-2022-extra-attempt-iit-entrance-exam-candidates-who-missed-in-2020-2021-jeeadv-ac-in

Is that the top 20 percentile in 12th board students can appear in jee mains and advance 🥺? if I have secured less than 75% in jac board in 12th?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 28th Mar, 2022

Hi

Guessing you from general category.

You need to be either in top 20 percentile or have at least  75 % in 12th . This criteria is only for JEE advanced & NITs etc. There is no minimum percentage barrier or top 20 percentile criteria to be eligible for JEE main

And for the year 2022 the minimum percentage requirement of 75% or top 20 percentile requirement criteria is not there to be eligible for nits etc and JEE advanced as well . So you are definitely eligible for jee advanced 2022 and jee main ( NITs etc) el irrespective of whether you have 75% or not or even if you are in the top 20  percentile or not

For your reference,

Eligibility criteria of both is given below:-

>>>>>>>>> JEE MAIN

Jee main eligibility criteria is given below-

---------------------------) Qualification required :- to be eligible  for JEE mains you need 10+2/equivalent qualification from a recognised board.

Course

Required Criteria based on Class 12th  or equivalent

B.E/B.Tech

Passed qualifying examination with Physics and   Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of :-

----)Chemistry

-----)Biotechnology

-----)Biology

----) Technical Vocational subject.

B.Arch

Passed qualifying examination with

-----)Mathematics,

-----)Physics,

------) Chemistry

To be eligible for B. Arch , you have at least 50% in aggregate of Physics, chemistry and Maths and also 50 % in overall in 12th

B.Planning

Passed qualifying examination with Mathematics

You must have at least 50% marks in Maths in 12th and also 50% in 12th overall.

-------------------------) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of appearing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible  for JEE mains 2022 you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent  in 2022 or should have passed it in 2021 or 2020

-------------------------) There is no age limit to be eligible

-------------------------) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Main for BE /Btech.

But yes,

To be eligible for BE/BTech  in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category  or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category or needs to be in top 20 percentile of their board examination.

IMPORTANT NOTE :- This  minimum percentage barrier of 75 % - 65% or  top 20 percentile criteria for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs  is not there for jee main 2022 . It means to be eligible all you need to be eligible is to have at least passed 12th .

If I do nios after 12th as my 12th percentage is not good, which passing year is considered for JEE ; nios passing year or board passing year !!?

ayanmukherjee045 28th Mar, 2022

Dear aspirant,

If you have decided to appear for nios 12th exam the next year after you have not secured good marks in your 12th boards so let me tell you that your passing year would be considered the nios passing provided you are having a full proper marksheet and pass certificate of that.

Without getting the transfer certificate or pass certificate or mark sheet you would be having difficulties at the time of document verification.
