consider a situation if I got 48% for PCM in 12th board and i got 88 percentile in JEE can i get admission for B. tech in private college? If I dont get admission for required branch what should I do? is my admission for b. tech in computer science guaranteed because I got 88 percentile in jee ?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 17th Mar, 2022

Hello,

There is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible to apply for JEE Main. You must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized board to appear for JEE Main. Candidates appearing in 10+2 or its examination are also eligible to apply for JEE Main.

If you are seeking admission in to a private institute accepting JEE Main you need to fulfill the eligibility criteria specified by the institute in which you are seeking admission and the eligibility criteria is different for each institute. So please check the eligibility criteria that is specified by the institute to be eligible before applying for admission.

Based on our JEE Main College predictor tool results which is based on previous year data, with 88 percentile score your overall rank is in between 122760 - 138000.  The cut off for the institutes accepting JEE Main score varies, so it is quite difficult to predict if you can get seat in Computer Science Engineering in a decent institute. A safe score would be in between 92-95 percentile or above. SO you should aim to score minimum 92-95 percentile or above in JEE Main to have decent chances of getting seat in CSE. Cut off is determined by the number of candidates applied for counselling, total number of seats available, category of the candidate etc.

I have decided to decided to take a drop for class 11th. Because of COVID and Major health issues. WEST BENGAL BOARD. WISH ME LUCK.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 15th Mar, 2022

Hi Arpit

Can understand your situation, having personally gone through the similar condition.

Always remember health is the most important thing and it can't be compromised for anything. So, if you have any serious health issues then it's completely to take a break from your studies.

So, you can definitely take a drop in your 11th. But still try to  keep yourself in touch with studies .

For example,

If you can't seat and study with pen & paper due to health issues then simply watch video lectures so that when you restart your studies , you don't face any problem.

Get well soon:)

Wishing you all the best for your future endeavours and for a bright career ahead....:))
