how i can get admission through lateral entery in btech, i have completed my diploma of 3 year in electrical branch of engineering with 56% and now i want to take admission in btech 2nd year. please satisfy me..

Shivangi Kumari 8th Mar, 2020
Hey Ravi ,

There are mainly two options by which you can take admission in diploma to degree courses. Firstly you can appear in JEE Mains , because as by rule final year Diploma candidates can also give exam . So by scoring good marks you can easily get good colleges even the IITs and the NITs and you will be promoted directly to the second year. Apart from these , there are numerous college that accept JEE Mains marks for admission.

Secondly there are many colleges which accept direct admission on the basis of your Diploma score cards. Therefore you can also go for this option.

Hope this helps !

JEE Main result for the January session has been declared and overall NTA score is mentioned.
The final result will be declared after the JEE Main April exam. Final result will contain All India Rank of Candidate, Category Rank of Candidate along with other details.

According to your percentile, you have chances to get admission in ECE in NIT Silchar, NIT Jamshedpur. NIT Patna, NIT Andhra Pradesh. You have decent chances to get a seat in other colleges also. Use the JEE Main College Predictor tool to check your admission chances

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 27th Jan, 2020

hi,

see mechanical and chemical engineering is two different streams of engineering, and it has lots of different in full syllabus. basic first year engineering syllabus is quite same in all streams but main subjects starts from second year, mechanical engineering mostly deals with design and priciples of diffrrent machine, air conditioning, large vehicles system design, whether chemical engineering deals with chemical process and methods of operation in different power plants, advantages, management etc. however in India there is less job opportunity for chemical engineering, few opportunities in oil sector, on the other hand there is many opportunities available for mechanical branch , both in private and government.

hope it would help.
