Hi aspirant,
As per the cutoff released by Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat, for admission at LD College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, for EWS category, the opening rank is around 4600 and closing at 7900 and I believe your rank is much lower. So it seems like it will be difficult to get admission there or any other colleges in Ahmedabad for civil engineering also seems difficult. You may however get seat for Civil Engineering at colleges like Govt. Engineering College, Valsad, GH Patel Engineering College, Anand etc.
To find out about your chances accurately based on your rank, check out GUJCET College Predictor in the link below:

Hello malik,

Hello Aspirant,
yes most of the colleges and companies allow to sit in their placement exam irrespective of your department. If you are able to learn CSE basic and core subjects properly with coding, then definitely you can sit for placements with cse students and get placed.
Hope it helps
ALL THE BEST
Chances are there but relatively less as compare to other branches such as Computer Science or Electronics. You can write the entrance exam conducted by ISRO itself or you can write GATE exam as well.
You can get both technical and research job as per ISRO website. Under career page there are notices about recruitment of Scientists/Engineers including Civil branch.
There are many ISRO facilities in India & all have Civil Maintenance Department (CMD) which looks after Civil related work in ISRO facilities. But as Civil doesn't falls in mainstream of ISRO so opportunities for new construction and design is less.
All the best!!
Hello aspirant,
Civil engineering itself open a path to various lucrative careers. But with passage of time competition is increasing day by day. So there is attire need to stand out from crowd and inculcate some good skills in yourself.
So here are the extra courses you can do,:
Specialized courses in Structures, Geotech, Hydraulics, Transportation etc. These would come handy if you are willing to go in Design. Eg. In structures, Design of Bridges, FEM, Offshore structures etc. are vast topics to explore.
2.You can also choose to read about Infrastructure Finance, Project Finance, Construction Planning and Management.
3. Learning software packages and taking up projects to master the same is always a good idea, again if you are interested to become a Design Engineer. STAAD Pro, ETABS, ANSYS, AutoCAD etc. are a few of them.
4 LEED Certification
Hope this answer is helpful for you.
