Civil Engineering
Depending on the type of program, the period of the program depends. If you want to go for Diploma in civil engineering then its of 3 years, for Btech in Civil Engineering its 4 years and for MTech in CE its 2 years. Now after Diploma also you can joint BTech civil engineering through lateral entry examination and it will take you 3 years. Some institutes provides dual degree program such as BTech+MTech which is of 5 years. Thus depending on your course type the period will depend.

Hey,
Yes, it is suffice for meeting the needs of the engineering students. M1 chip is capable of performing multitasking, and other stuffs. The M1 is also a system on a chip (SOC) with onboard memory and integrated graphics. The associated GPU features 8 cores and 128 total processing units, with a throughput of 2.6 teraflops. The configuration of 8 gb along with 512 gb space will suffice the daily needs and will not cause storage problems .
Hi there ,
As a civil engineer, you'll be using tools like AutoCAD, SAP2000, Microsoft Project, and so on. For specific tools, you'll have to go through the specific college curriculum.
I am just mentioning one of the tools here. As far as I checked AutoCAD 2022 and Auto CAD 2022 runs fine with the M1 chip rosetta 2 according to the latest update.
Usually, students prefer a Macbook pro to run AutoCAD. MacBook air might run but not with all the features.
I however suggest going for windows. It will eliminate all these hassles. Also, there will be some heavy-duty tools as well which will require high speed, more RAM, and dedicated GPU . It is better to have windows than Mac OS.
For reference please go through the article below.

I hope this information helps!
Thank you!
Diploma in Civil Engineering is one of the most preferred courses in the field of engineering. The course have employability and can be beneficial for those who want to work in the core field and want not to go for BTech. Now the fees for diploma in civil engineering varies from colleges to colleges.
Now Diploma in Civil engineering is a 3 years and the average fees for the course varies as provided below:

As you have mentioned that you want to know about which year does autocad is taught for civil engineering students in nit/iit so let me tell you that autocad is taught in 1st year or 2nd year depending upon the college you choose.
So, as per my view you need to keep a laptop as you are going to college. You would need the laptop for these kind of softwares.
Hello,
It is usually taught in the Engineering Drawing course. It is, to the best of knowledge, taught in the first year nowadays
Most universities teach the basics of AutoCad in the first year, which include selecting a sheet, modifying the sheet and its format, creating 2-D diagrams using basic instructions such as circle, rectangle, fillet, chamfer, trim, and some basic 3-D modelling commands. The instructions are simple, yet they are quite useful for CAD modelling.
Hope it helped
Dear student,
As you have not mentioned the Category you belong to I'm considering it as General Category. To get Lateral Entry admission in B.Tech Civil Engineering in Top Colleges in Telangana you must get Integrated Rank below 150 Integrated and Branch wise Rank below 50 in ECET.
Top 10 B.Tech Civil Engineering Colleges in Telangana are listed below.
Hope this helps you.
Best of Luck!!
