what is the year of peraid civil engineering course

Arhana Chakraborty 27th Jul, 2021

Depending on the type of program, the period of the program depends. If you want to go for Diploma in civil engineering then its of 3 years, for Btech in Civil Engineering its 4 years and for MTech in CE its 2 years. Now after Diploma also you can joint BTech civil engineering through lateral entry examination and it will take you 3 years. Some institutes provides dual degree program such as BTech+MTech which is of 5 years. Thus depending on your course type the period will depend.

Can I buy MacBook Air M1 for Civil Engineering? or should I go for windows?(I can afford MacBook)

Akshita Dhiman 27th Jul, 2021

Hi there ,

As a civil engineer, you'll be using tools like AutoCAD, SAP2000, Microsoft Project, and so on. For specific tools, you'll have to go through the specific college curriculum.

I am just mentioning one of the tools here. As far as I checked AutoCAD 2022 and Auto CAD 2022 runs fine with the M1 chip rosetta 2 according to the latest update.

Usually, students prefer a Macbook pro to run AutoCAD. MacBook air might run but not with all the features.

I however suggest going for windows. It will eliminate all these hassles. Also, there will be some heavy-duty tools as well which will require high speed, more RAM, and dedicated GPU . It is better to have windows than Mac OS.

For reference please go through the article below.

I hope this information helps!

Thank you!

In which year autocad is taught for civil engineering

Niranjana 25th Jul, 2021

Hello,

It is usually taught in the Engineering Drawing course. It is, to the best of knowledge, taught in the first year nowadays

Most universities teach the basics of AutoCad in the first year, which include selecting a sheet, modifying the sheet and its format, creating 2-D diagrams using basic instructions such as circle, rectangle, fillet, chamfer, trim, and some basic 3-D modelling commands. The instructions are simple, yet they are quite useful for CAD modelling.

Hope it helped
