can i get admission in nit manipur for b.tech in civil engineering with percentile 73.56 obc(ncl) and home state

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 22nd Jun, 2021

Hi

With 73.56  percentile

Your obc rank will be around 1 lakh.

I am extremely sorry to tell you but with above predicted rank you have a very low chance in NIT Manipur even under home state quota

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, closing rank for gender-neutral for obc category was  45052 obc rank    under home state in NIT Manipur  for civil engineering

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

You need to get at least around 45000 obc rank to get a seat in NIT Manipur for civil engineering i. e at least around 86 percentile To improve your score in remaining sessions of JEE main you should focus on your preparation go through previous year question papers ,mock test papers and to help you in your preparation we have jee main knockout out for you, for which  is provided below

Hello i am a diploma in civil engineering and working as Junior Engineer in central govt department since last 11 years.I want to do my graduation in food science and technology. pls brief me which is better - bsc or btech.and can i have lateral entry?

medsra159 22nd Jun, 2021

Dear leaner,

It's better to go with btech as your are from polytechnic you have a chance of learning easy with appropriate basics, why another option if you have 100% of chances to get in btech

You can do food technology in btech as well b sc also

As everyone know that btech is a professional degree where as bsc is a degree where everyone sees it like a normal degree ,the career in food technology with btech is vast , after completion of your course one can cope with government as well private sector

The jobs like tech in food industry

Testing in labs, and quality of food products etc

Some companies recruits the students right after degree ends

Amul

Cadbury

Britannia

Nestle .

Food technology in btech and bsc are same , by the deal is what are you good at

Go on with passion, to reach your passion you have to take smart decisions also .

is 55 marks sufficient to get civil engineering in Amrita university.

Shja 20th Jun, 2021

Hey Chetan,

Looks like your marks will fetch you a rank between 18000-21000. With this rank you might be able to grab civil engineering branch if you have the state quota ,if not then its really tough for you to get civil engineering branch. I would suggest you to give other state exams as well if you plan on to stick to your desired branch. Don't loose hope and keep working hard.

Hope this Helps!

want to study civil engineering diploma

RAJDEEP 19th Jun, 2021

Hello student, if you have completed class 10th then you can take admission in diploma courses in polytechnic. You can also do diploma after passing 10+2 but generally people go for degree after 10+2. If you pass entrance exam for the diploma college that you want to apply (like Delhi CET, AP JEE, Punjab PET, Odisha DET) which depends on the state you live in.  Then you will get a seat according to merit list based on your marks. You need minimum 50% marks to be eligible for entrance test. Diploma in Civil is a 3 year course after which you can apply for jobs or you can get admission in degree program by lateral entry.

which branch has scope in civil engineering for mtech?(placement point of view)

ginnisachdeva02_9364270 Student Expert 19th Jun, 2021

Hello Candidate!

The most preferred and demanding branch by the M.Tech candidates in Civil engineering is Structural engineering and the scope of this branch is good as it is one of the most core subjects in Civil Engineering. Other than this, you can join Transportation, Environmental and GT, these branches are considered almost equivalent. Further, we have WRE, Construction management. But it solely depends on your interest with the subjects. I would suggest you to check out the syllabus and to find out the thing exciting you or you can consult to your seniors for more help.

Thankyou!
