Commerce
No, students from the Commerce stream are not eligible to pursue BE directly after Class 12. The BE program is a technical and science-based ug degree that requires a strong Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), which are part of the Science stream in 12th and 11th.
Most engineering entrance exams in India—like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, MHT CET, COMEDK, TNEA, etc.—are specifically designed for students who have studied the PCM subjects. Since Commerce students do not study Physics and Chemistry, they are not eligible to apply for these exams and, therefore, cannot enter a BE program.
but i would recommend that, if you're highly interested in engineering despite having a Commerce background, you have to complete 12th with PCM subjects again through National Institute of Open Schooling or a similar board and then appear for entrance exams.
For admission to 11th Commerce, the minimum percentage requisites may vary depending on the school or state board.
For regular schools (government or average private schools), a minimum of 50% to 60% in Class 10 is usually sufficient.
For top private or reputed schools, especially those affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, or State Boards, the cutoff can range from 70% to 85% or higher, depending on seat availability and competition.
Some schools also consider specific marks in Mathematics and English, if you are opting for subjects like Maths with Commerce or Economics.
i would suggest you to check the admission criteria on the official website or notice board of the school you’re applying to, as requirements can change from one school to another.
