I got 79% in my boards i am an non Maharashtrian so can i get admission in symbiosis college of arts and commerce for bcom with 79%

Samriddha Pal 26th May, 2025

Hello,

With a 79% score in your Class 12 board exams and being a non-Maharashtrian applicant, securing admission to Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce (SCAC), Pune for the B.A. or B.Com programs may be challenging, given recent cutoff trends. The minimum eligibility criteria states that the candidates must have completed their 10+2 examination with a minimum of 45% marks for the general category.  While you meet the basic eligibility, admission is merit-based, and seats are allotted according to the cutoff percentages.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Hello Santosh,

Based on your B.Com background, interest in economics, CMA foundation, and NBFC job experience, here are the best short and practical career options:

1. MBA (Finance / Marketing / Business Analytics):

  • Ideal for career growth in finance or management.

  • Prepare for exams like CAT, CMAT or go for low-cost distance/IGNOU MBA if budget is tight.

2. PG Diploma in Banking & Finance:

  • Short 6–12 months course.

  • Leads to officer-level jobs in banks and financial firms.

3. Data Analytics / Business Analytics:

  • Growing field with great demand.

  • Learn Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python.

  • Courses available online (Google, Coursera, etc.).

4. Economics & Finance Certifications:

  • NPTEL or IIM/IIT online courses to build strong economics or finance base.

5. Resume CMA (optional):

  • Since you cleared foundation, you can continue later when financially stable.

Suggestion: Start with online/distance learning while working. Gain skills for better jobs, then go for MBA or switch roles. Focus fully for 1 year—you’ll see real growth.

kumardurgesh1802 23rd May, 2025

Hello there,

Yes, if you pass Mathematics as an additional subject through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) , it is generally accepted by Delhi University for eligibility in courses that require Maths in Class 12, provided :

  1. You pass the subject before admission starts .

  2. You meet the minimum eligibility criteria for the specific course (like B.Com (Hons) or Economics Hons).

  3. You include Maths marks in the CUET subject combination and it is accepted by the course you apply for.

Make sure:

  • The NIOS result is declared before DU admission deadlines.

  • You choose the right subject combinations for CUET and DU eligibility.

Always cross-check with the latest Delhi University admission bulletin for that year.

is there any separate degree for e commerce ??

kumardurgesh1802 22nd May, 2025

Hello there,

Yes, there are separate degree programs specifically for E-commerce . Some common ones include:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in E-commerce

  • Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) with specialization in E-commerce

  • B.Sc. in E-commerce (less common but available in some universities)

  • Diploma or Certificate courses in E-commerce as well.

These degrees focus on online business, digital marketing, electronic transactions, supply chain management, and related areas.

So, if you want to specialize in E-commerce, you can choose a dedicated degree or a commerce/business degree with an E-commerce specialization.
