does there is any similarity in Electronic and communications and instrumentation and control ?

19euee017 29th Sep, 2020

Hello,

Hope you are safe and strong!!

Electronics and Communication Engineering is something that deals completely on electronics like analog, digital signals and so on. In addition to core subjects, ECE engineering also encapsulates various IT subjects like operating systems, computer networks, microprocessors interface and programming languages like Python, java, etc.EC engineers opt jobs mostly in Research and development areas and some in the IT sector.

Coming to Instrumentation and Control, this department is similar to Electrical and Electronics Engineering which deals with technical background in the key subjects of electronics, power engineering, signal processing . Moreover, they focus mainly on the measuring instruments used in design and configuration of design systems. This forms the basis of mechatronics and robotics engineering. This branch is highly demanding as the future of industries is all about control systems and process automation.

At last,Instrumentation and Control is a specialized branch of EEE which is  core whereas ECE is specialized branch of CSE.

Hope that helps!!

Good luck!!

Got Electronics & Communications Engg at NIT Uttarakhand on other state quata & at ICT at DAIICT Gujarat home state....which should I prefer .... pls give ur expert opinion / advise

ritikaprasad.work 4th Nov, 2020

Hey there!

The both mentioned choices are really great when it comes to the faculty and quality of education. The placements are decent enough as well. I'd recommend NIT Uttarakhand because of the reviews it has as well as the fact that it's an NIT so it would be great for your resume as well. But ofcourse make the choice based on what's more accessible to you and which one do you prefer.

my name is siddhardha my jee paresentile is 69.495 my rank is 22445 best colleges electrical and electronics communications

Pritam Singh 12th Sep, 2020

Hey there

Your rank is low and thus seeing previous cutoffs your chances of getting NITs, IIITs, GFTIs. You should go for other engineering colleges under jee mains or under other entrance exams if you have applied.

Which is better IIST se electronic and communications ya new iit se civil?

Nishu Kumari 15th Oct, 2020

Hii there, congratulations to you!!

Dear candidate, hope you are doing well, well the question you asked is very complicated and diverse if you think about your future. But there are some aspects where you must think about.

IIST and new IIT's like IIT PATNA, Hyderabad, etc. can be compared but IIT is more a brand and it provides you much more wide range of opportunities if you get into one.

Being in IIST there are high chances to go into ISRO. The ECE department itself is very reserach oriented and aslo it might provide you job. But you will see yourself revolving around Aerospace.

But in IIT you will get to experience many things, IIT patna is new but it's doing really great in recent years.

IIT colleges have slight high package than IIST. But then you must decide whether you want to opt for ECE or Civil branch. Both are very different. Civil is a preferred choice by boys, but now a days, ECE is also in demand, it is more coding and circuit oriented. There are less opportunities in civil for research but there are few. It is more inclined towards designing and working on  field which you might enjoy.  You can compare both colleges here
