I got 376 in neet 2024, rank around 4 lakh, I belong to sc category and have karnataka domicile. can I get mbbs seat in aided/ semi government colleges. I am ready to wait till last round of counselling.

kumardurgesh1802 19th Oct, 2024

Hello there,

With 376 marks in NEET 2024 and a rank around 4 lakh , being from the SC category and holding Karnataka domicile , your chances of securing an MBBS seat in an aided/semi-government medical college are possible, though challenging. Here’s what you can expect:

1. SC Category Advantage:

  • The SC category generally has a lower cutoff, which increases your chances compared to the general category.

  • In Karnataka, SC candidates often get the benefit of reduced cutoffs in government and aided colleges.

    2. Aided/Semi-Government Colleges:

  • Seats in semi-government/aided colleges are slightly easier to get compared to government colleges, and with your category, you have a reasonable chance.

  • However, these seats tend to fill up quickly, so you may need to wait until the last round of counseling or mop-up rounds for better chances.

    3. Last Round Counseling:

  • You should be prepared to wait until the final rounds of counseling, as some seats might remain vacant, especially under category quotas.

    4. Alternative Options:

  • If you don’t get an MBBS seat, you could consider BDS, BAMS , or other medical courses as backup options in the same counseling rounds.

In summary, with 376 marks , your chances for an MBBS seat in aided/semi-government colleges in Karnataka are low but possible, especially if you wait until the last round. Make sure to stay updated with the counseling process and participate in mop-up rounds for the best opportunity.

I got 527 in neet 2024. I belong to obc 2a category and i have 371j certificate . I am permanent resident of karnataka. Can i get govt medical college in state counselling..

kumardurgesh1802 19th Oct, 2024

Hello there,

With a NEET score of 527 , belonging to the OBC 2A category and holding a 371J certificate , you have a reasonable chance of securing a seat in a government medical college in Karnataka through state counseling. Here are some key points to consider:

1. Cutoff Trends:

  • In previous years, the cutoff scores for government medical colleges in Karnataka for OBC candidates have typically been lower than your score. Your score of 527 should place you above the cutoff for many government colleges.

    2. 371J Certificate:

  • The 371J certificate is significant, as it provides certain reservations and benefits for candidates from specific regions in Karnataka. This can improve your chances during the counseling process.

    3. State Quota:

  • As a permanent resident of Karnataka, you will be eligible for the state quota, which usually has lower cutoffs compared to the All India quota.

    4. Counseling Process:

  • Participate actively in the Karnataka NEET counseling process. There are typically multiple rounds, so being proactive can help you secure a seat.

    Conclusion:

With a NEET score of 527 and the benefits of your OBC 2A status and 371J certificate, you stand a good chance of securing a seat in a government medical college in Karnataka. Stay updated on the counseling process and be prepared to apply in all rounds to maximize your chances.

I understand you're currently enrolled in the first year of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) program and are interested in appearing for the NEET 2025 examination. Here's how you can proceed:

NEET Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2025.

Educational Qualification: You must have completed your 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. While pursuing a BA degree, you can still appear for NEET, provided you meet the age and educational requirements.

Key Points:

No Upper Age Limit: The Supreme Court has removed the upper age limit for NEET candidates, allowing individuals of all ages to apply.

No Impact on Current Studies: Your current enrollment in a BA program does not disqualify you from appearing for NEET, as long as you meet the age and educational criteria.

Next Steps:

1. Prepare for NEET 2025: Focus on studying the NEET syllabus, which includes Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.

2. Stay Updated: Regularly check the official NEET website for updates on exam dates, application procedures, and other important information.

3. Manage Your Schedule: Balance your BA studies with NEET preparation by creating a structured timetable.

If you have further questions or need additional as

sistance, feel free to ask.

In Jee mains 2024 my crl rank is 517730 and crl-pwd 1199. which rank is consider in counselling ?

kumardurgesh1802 2nd Sep, 2024

Hello student,

In JEE Main 2024 counseling, the rank considered for admission depends on whether you are applying through the General CRL or CRL-PWD category. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

1. CRL Rank (517,730):

  • General Category: This rank is quite high and might not qualify for admission into the top NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs. You might find opportunities in less preferred branches or newer institutes if seats are available.

    2. CRL-PWD Rank (1,199):

  • Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Category: This rank is relatively favorable and improves your chances of getting admission into better institutes compared to your general rank. The PWD category often has a separate cutoff which is typically lower than the general category cutoff.

    Counseling Process:

  • For CRL Rank: You will be considered for general category seats based on the cutoff for your rank. This might limit options to less popular branches or newer institutions.

  • For CRL-PWD Rank: This will be considered for reserved seats under the PWD category, which generally have lower cutoffs. You may have better chances of getting admission to established institutions or preferred branches compared to the general CRL rank.

Want to know about NEET counselling

kumardurgesh1802 21st Oct, 2024

Hello Aastha,

NEET counseling is a crucial process for students aspiring to secure admission to undergraduate medical courses (MBBS/BDS) in India. Here’s a comprehensive overview:

1. Types of Counseling:

  • All India Quota (AIQ): Conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for 15% of the total seats in government medical colleges and 100% seats in deemed universities and central universities.

  • State Quota: Each state conducts its own counseling for 85% of the total seats in government medical colleges and some private colleges.

    2. Eligibility:

  • Students must qualify NEET and meet the required cut-off scores set by the respective authorities for the AIQ and state counseling.

    3. Registration Process:

  • Candidates need to register online for the counseling process, filling in their details and preferences for colleges and courses.

  • It's important to keep track of the official websites for notifications about registration dates.

    4. Choice Filling:

  • After registration, candidates fill in their choices of colleges and courses based on their preferences. It's advisable to choose a range of colleges, including those that may have slightly lower cut-offs.

    5. Seat Allotment:

  • Seats are allocated based on the candidate's rank, preferences, and available seats in the selected colleges.

  • Results are published online, and candidates are notified about their allocated seats.

    6. Reporting to College:

  • After seat allotment, candidates must report to the allotted college to complete the admission formalities, which include document verification and fee payment.

    7. Subsequent Rounds:

  • If candidates are not satisfied with their allocated seat, they can opt for the subsequent rounds of counseling, depending on the rules set by the respective counseling authorities.

    8. Important Documents:

  • Keep essential documents handy, including NEET scorecard, ID proof, category certificate, and other relevant documents for verification during the admission process.

    9. Important Tips:

  • Stay updated with official notifications and counseling schedules.
  • Prepare a list of preferred colleges and keep an open mind about different options.
  • Be prompt in completing admission procedures to avoid losing the seat.

NEET counseling is a multi-step process that plays a significant role in securing admission to medical courses in India. It’s essential to stay informed and prepared throughout the counseling stages to maximize your chances of getting into a preferred college.

In Jossa counselling for NIT, can i choose the same department in same institute twice once under home state quota and second time under non home statequota ?

Nitin Kumar 10th Jun, 2024

No, you cannot choose the same department in the same NIT twice under JoSAA counselling, once under home state quota and again under non-home state quota. JoSAA's system treats these as duplicate choices and will only consider one of them.

JoSAA aims to give students the opportunity to explore as many options as possible. By including the same department twice, you're essentially blocking a slot for another student who might have a genuine preference for that specific department-quota combination.

NITs have a limited number of seats available under each quota (home state and other state). Including the same department twice doesn't increase your chances of getting that seat. It just takes up space in your list that could be used for another department or institute you might be interested in.

I hope it helps!

my neet all india rank is 3.4 lakhmy sc category rank is 27ki am frm karnataka..can i get any government or semi government clg for mbbs which shld cost fee of rs 1lakh-1.5lakh/ year through kea counselling ????i am intrested in mysore medical college mandya medical college,???

kumardurgesh1802 28th Oct, 2024

Hello student,

With an All India Rank of 3.4 lakh and an SC category rank of 27k from Karnataka , you have a fair chance of securing an MBBS seat in government or semi-government colleges in Karnataka through KEA counseling . However, the competition can be high for popular colleges like Mysore Medical College and Mandya Medical College .

Chances and Options:

  1. Government Medical Colleges :

    • Colleges like Mysore Medical College and Mandya Medical College may be possible, but they are in high demand. Seats for SC category students are typically more accessible at lower ranks.

    • You still have a reasonable chance at other government colleges in Karnataka under the SC quota if cutoff trends align with previous years.

  2. Semi-Government Colleges :

    • Some semi-government colleges also have reserved seats at a lower fee structure. You could have a better chance here if government college seats are competitive.

  3. Fee Structure :

    • Many government seats for the SC category fall within the fee range of Rs. 1-1.5 lakh per year under the Karnataka state quota.

      Next Steps:
  • Participate in KEA Counseling : Check cutoff trends from previous years during counseling to make informed choices.

  • Consider Backup Options : Keep an open mind about less popular government colleges where your chances may be higher.

While Mysore and Mandya are competitive, with your SC category rank, you still have a good chance of securing an MBBS seat within your fee range in Karnataka.
