COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGINEERING SPECIALIZATIONS: Artificial Intelligence Cloud Computing Data Science DevOps Full-Stack Cyber Security Blockchain Robotics and Automation Gaming and Virtual Reality Which specialization to choose in cse if my interest is much in coding and computer networking +

Aditya 9th Mar, 2022

Hi aspirant,

See Computer Science and Engineering is a very vast subject and consists of many languages and new technologies being added with respect to time. That means you would study the basics of programming definitely which consist of programming languages like Python, C, C plus plus ,Java, JavaScript, HTML and many others. Now talking about the best specialisation in this field, you should go with computer science and engineering in core branch this is because then you can choose the path of your interests with respect to time. That means you would not be bounded to study a particular specialisation and if you don't like one you can switch to other or learn multiple skills at a time. Now let's suppose that you choose artificial intelligence as your specialisation and you don't like the subjects due to mini complex algorithms then also you would have to study this for the entire 4 years and that is not case when you are in the core branch. But since you have asked in a particular order I would rank them as follows:

  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Data Science
  • Blockchain
  • Cloud computing and big data
  • Information security

After this you can prepare any specialisation which meets your interests.

Hope it helps!

data science courses in colleges

mrinalini048 24th Jan, 2022

Hey!

Data Science is a branch of study concerned with the gathering, analysing, and processing of diverse data or information in order to derive solutions. It is concerned with the interpretation of a large amount of organised and unstructured data using specialised expertise in order to obtain the essential insights. These actions can only be carried out by specialists with specialised understanding in the field of Data Science. Data science is a term that encompasses a variety of scientific activities such as mathematics, calculus, graphs, charts, algorithms, computer programmes, and much more. It's a branch of science that necessitates knowledge of business or commerce-related areas.

The data science courses are mentioned below.

  • Fundamentals of Scalable Data Science
  • Professional Certificate in Applied Data Science
  • Data Science MicroMasters Certification
  • Professional Certificate in Data Science
  • Introduction to Data Science
  • Master of Applied Data Science
  • Machine Learning Course A-ZTM: Hands- On Python and R in Data Science
  • Statistics with R Certification from Duke University on Coursera

I got admission in LPU for 2022-23 in CSE Data Science(ML and AI). I want to buy the 2020 M1 Macbook pro. If so, what should I choose for RAM- 8gb or 16gb, what should I choose for SSD 256 or 512 GB. Can I buy a macbook pro for data science?

Sree Student Expert 5th Mar, 2022

Hello Sai Teja,

Yes, you can buy MacBook Pro as you are CSE (Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence) student, you require a laptop for practice purpose, coding purpose, etc.

I recommend 2020 M1 MacBook Pro with 16 GB Ram and 512 GB storage because as you will use it for coding or programming or practice purpose you need to install few softwares in your laptop which requires good storage space. If you take 512 GB it would be better than 256 GB which is not sufficient for this purpose. Coming to RAM, if RAM is more then the laptop functions smoothly through you open multiple programs or tabs running in background without delay or hanging. That's why 16 GB RAM is recommended over 8 GB RAM.

I hope this information was helpful to you.

Best of Luck!!

which among data science or ML AL would have better job opportunities and salary?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 20th Jan, 2022

See all this fields you have mentioned have really good job perspective in the industries. So if you wish you can go for the Data Science or ML-AI. Now as per the industry exposure in India, there are more vacancies available for Data Scientist over the ML-AI although ML-AI is a part of Data Science. So if you wish to go for a field with more job openings then I would recommend you to go for the course of Data Science.

Im artificial intelligence and data science student in btech.can i write gate exam for cs?

Swapnali Datkhile 19th Jan, 2022

Yes, you can give the GATE CS paper, but writing the paper is not same as being eligible for admission in a particular institute.

Note this disclaimer on the GATE website

GATE is NOT an admission ensuring examination. Qualifying in GATE examination does NOT guarantee admission / scholarship. Admission to any institute is fully dependent on the admitting institute's criteria for educational qualification. Similarly, GATE qualification does not assure a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) job, as it depends on the recruitment procedure of the concerned PSU. GATE committee is NOT liable for any legal obligations related to admission / job.

You will have to read the Masters Admission information brochure of any institutes you are inerested in, to figure out whether your UG degree is acceptable, what percentage cutoff is there and so on.

AI & ML or Data science which has most opportunities in India ?

Ashish Gupta 25th Feb, 2022

The short answer would be that ML and Data Science are currently leading the skill demand arena in terms of solving industry-relevant use cases along with other essential AI domains such as virtual agents and text analytics coming in close on the second. The answers can largely vary depending on changing landscapes and avenues. However, if one analyzes the industry with a pragmatic lens of technologies that are solving industry use cases, they would be presented with a list similar to the one mentioned below. This list highlights the topmost areas where AI, ML & Data science is being leveraged to solve actual problems.

·         Machine Learning for demand forecasting.

·         Data Science for clustering and identifying hidden buying patterns.

·         Virtual agents and chatbots for better customer service.

·         Text analytics to manage paperwork and documentation across domains.

·         NLP for better customer service and managing a huge amount of information.

You would be surprised as to why domains such as image analytics and deep learning are not featured in the list above. After all, we hear about self-driving cars and image detection use cases all the time. If you analyze the industry as a large landscape then only a fraction of organizations are currently leveraging speech and image analytics to solve complex problems. The problem is not with adoption but with the accuracy scores of such technologies. We still have to run multiple iterations and improvements before these technologies can be fully autonomous. We still use these technologies to augment human skills and not to replace them. If one is looking for opportunities in the current landscape the above list features the most prominent areas where most organizations are working towards. Since such technologies cut across domains, you would find multiple opportunities. These opportunities can be in Retail, Finance, Oil & Gas, etc. However, if you are hunting for opportunities that are still a niche, then you would need a specialized skill set in a highly experimental and innovative domain.

Certifications and focused programmes can help a student in developing these skills at an exponential pace. Since these certifications are focused and practical to industry use, the students who successfully passed are total industry-ready. Such skills are in high demand and one must leverage the growing landscape within AI & Data science to produce better products and services.
