Can I secure a private BDS seat or a seat in deemed universities in Karnataka for 350 marks in NEET. I belong to unreserved category.

Anurag pal Student Expert 28th Sep, 2020

Hey dear, cut off varies every year, seeing the last year's cutoff which went very high that even students getting 500 marks were unable to get a seat in govt. Mbbs colleges . Since you asked for deemed university for bds seat under general category with 350, so you can very easily get a seat over there, because in deemed university cutoff id generally less. Under All India Quota, All the 15% of All India Quota Seats except for Jammu and Kashmir, 100% Seats at Deemed and Central Universities, IP Quota seats in ESIC Colleges, Seats at AFMC, AIIMS and JIPMER are filled by DGHS. So once the NEET results have been declared and the merit list has been released, the DGHS will release the online notification for registration for all these Seats including Deemed/Central Universities. There will be 2 rounds and a Mop up round. You can check the complete information at our page: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/deemed-university-mbbs-admission . At this point in time, NEET 2020 has been scheduled for September 13th and so assuming that NEET is conducted as per the schedule and it takes atleast 2 weeks for the results to be anounced, it will be around October that the merit list will be announced and DGHS might release the online applications for registration around that time. how deemed universities differ from anna universities

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 3rd Jun, 2020

Dear,

Anna University is a public state university located in Tamil Nadu, India and it is one of the top technical university in Tamil Nadu.

Deemed University means that a college is not under any ruling body of a university that it is autonomous and execute its own exams and implement its own rules independently without interference from government or any other ruling body. And they are most likely to be private so their course fees will be higher than a public university.

Hope this helps!

Do OCI students have options in applying through management quota in deemed universities or private medical colleges or they can only apply through nri quota?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 10th Jun, 2020

Venkat, All the 15% of All India Quota Seats except for Jammu and Kashmir, 100% Seats at Deemed and Central Universities, IP Quota seats in ESIC Colleges, Seats at AFMC, AIIMS and JIPPMER are filled by DGHS. Here in the Deemed Universities, OCI card holders can apply and they will be considered under NRI quota. And Private Medical Colleges do not participate in All India Counselling and the seats are filled through State Counselling alone. Category C of Private Medical Colleges is NRI Quota and it is usually 10% of the seats.
