Hello nisheeth, since you rank and score seems quite well and good, but it's not upto the mark of drdo, yes you have a slight chances of getting called for interview at drdo.
I'm just sharing you the past records of ece branch ie ec gate paper cutoff of past years
1)2016 closing rank:-151
2)2015 closing rank:-179
And so on.......
You can see the change in cutoff every year,so it depends this year also on the various factors like:-
1)no. Of students appeared in the exam
2)difficulty level of question paper
You have a low chance of getting called at drdo apply for other psus too but don't be disappointed as you might also get a call this year, hope you get it what you want.Hope this helps you
All the best for future
Hi Raman,
It seems you are already pursuing Btech in Aerospace engineering as of now. See most of the deemed companies or institutions that offer job in this department are PSUs like the one you mentioned DRDO. Usually the criteria for job there includes passing the job interview and they often ask for the GATE score. That is the evaluation criteria for them. So my advice to you would be if you want to pursue a career in DRDO you should definitely take GATE.
Good Luck !!
From last few years only DRDO started recruitment through gate score .
Category wise : cutoff ranks/ Scores
General :
Below 151 rank shortlisted (2016 gate)
Below 179 rank (Gate 2015)
OBC :
Below 440 (not remember exactly )
Mine was 295 , one of my friend rank 371 ….both shortlisted.
SC:
593 is cutoff score …..Rank approximately 2400
ST :
Around 4000 rank .
Hello applicant,
Well it is said to have atleast first class mater's degree in maths/chemistry/physics/animal science/cognitive science/agriculture science from a recognized university.
In engineering you can go for computer science/electronics or mechanical engineering and if you can get a decent score in gate.
Hope it helps.
Dear Rajesh, going to ISRO, NASA, DRDO is a great to dream and more importance is difficult jobs because they need talent plus hard work which is most rare quality and you may have chances to by both field Electronics as well as Enst. Engineering. And bi Yes you may go with the help of these branches you don't worry work hard, have B+ attitude and focus on your dream.
All the best.

Hi Aspirant
Have you pursued any research based exams or appeared for Olympiads at your high school. There are various avenues to pursue basic science in eminent institutes like IISC, IISER, TIFR etc. You can also apply for these institute scholarships by appearing for KVPY exam in your +2 or even first year of college.
Hope this helps and All the Best.

Hello aspirant! Let me to inform you that according to the previous years cut off rank for isro and drdo, you must have a gate rank below 150 to get a interview call from these esteemed psus. For both of the psus you must be among one of the top ranked students.

Good Luck.
Hi Surya,
The minimum qualification to get into DRDO is B.E/ B.Tech. Every year DRDO recruits students engineering graduates on the basis of their GATE score and then an interview.. So, answer to our question is Yes.
There is an exam Called CEPTAM, that conducts the exam for Administrative Posts and other Technical Posts. I would suggest you to read the article below for more details.
