Is dentist industry overcrowded?

Nupur Agarwal 24th May, 2019

Hello Sobana!

If you actually look around, you won't find any industry that's not overcrowded. Look at the stream engineering, law, fashion, management, everywhere students are struggling to grab the seat of their dreams. Infact struggling even after getting the degree. Therefore the scenario with dentistry is nothing different. It's just that in order to stand out from the crowd, you have to pull yourself up, make a goal and put that extra effort to achieve. You shouldn't be looking for the less crowded streams as you may find none, but you can find ways to stand out in that crowd and you will achieve a lot.

All the best!

I want to repeat neet but how if I select BDS and than after one year I repeat neet?

Syed arooj Student Expert 17th May, 2019
Hi.

Yes you can repeat NEET.  But you must remember that you should not fail in your professional exams of BDS if you are doing it. Either you should qualify the exam or you should withdraw admission before exams. And for every college or university has its own rules and regulations,if you withdraw the admission you have to pay the whole fee Because the seat you leave ,will be vacant.

Good luck

To get BDS seat what is benchmarks for category wise.

Animesh Vats Student Expert 7th Mar, 2020

Hi,

Well the cut off marks are very flexible and there is no hard and fast rule in deciding about the marks that might get you a seat but based on last year cut offs,

For general category students- 500+

For OBC students- 480+

For SC and ST students-400+

This can give you a idea of how the thing works. This is just an assumption and you need to be clear about that.

I hope my answer helps.

All the best.
