Dentist
Dear candidate,
Since you didn't mention your category I'm assuming it to be general.
For BAMS you need to score 420+ and for BDS 450+ to secure the seat in good Government colleges.
If you are interested in Ayurvedic medicine you should choose BAMS and if you interested in dentistry you can go for BDS. See choosing a course is totally depends on your interest. Both the fields are totally different.
The career opportunity after the completion of BAMS is not only in India but also in foreign countries. Many organizations are working in the manufacturing and research field in abroad are requiring the professional in this field. The candidate having the BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree is eligible to be called as a doctor and eligible to do the private practice. ob opportunities also exists in government sector. One can get job in government ayurveda hospital as ayurvedic pharmacist. After the completion of this course, candidates also have opportunity to open their own retail shop of Ayurveda medicines.
Teaching field is also open for BAMS graduates. They can find employment in private and government ayurveda Institutes.
The salary in the medical field is the benchmark for other job profiles in different field. Some universities provide the stipend around 40 thousand to 50 thousand per month to the post-graduate doctors in Ayurvedic field. In the job an Ayurvedic professional may get the salary from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 50000 according the role and nature of his/her job profile.
After the completion of the BDS course, the dental graduates are entitled to use the term Doctor before his or her name as the prefix “Dr.”.
There are plenty of good jobs & higher study opportunities available after getting the degree in dentistry as a doctor. eaching career is also open for BDS graduates. Those interested in teaching can acquire teaching jobs in any of the top Dental Colleges. They are eligible to hold positions as professors or even HOD and even get promoted to Dean.
The initial salary of a dentist may be the Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month. After getting the experience and good hands on in this field, the candidate may get the handsome salary as 4 to 6 lakh per annum.
Both options are good & has value in its fields. It all depends on area of your interest.
Hope the answer is helpful.
Good luck.
Dear Ranjit, to become a dentist, you should apepar for NEET. NEET is the entrance examination for admission to Dental colleges across India. To be able to appear in NEET, you should have completed 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology. It is 50% for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for SC,ST,OBC. Once you appear and qualify in NEET, NTA will release the final merit list. And Dental colleges will release their respective cut offs and online applications. You can apply to thosr colleges according to your marks and participate in the NEET BDS counselling. Once you get admission in a Dental college, you complete you studies along with the mandatory internship and you become a Dentist. However, if you are interested in MBBS, the whole process is the same except that you have to check for cut offs released by Medical colleges and attend NEET MBBS counselling.
Dear aspirant....!
Let me explain. There are two ways to become a dentist in Canada
For direct licensing you will have to clear AFK, ACS and ACJ exams, which will enable you to take your OSCE license exam. Once you clear all these exams you will be allowed to practice dentistry in Canada.
Other option is to complete AFK exam and seek admissions to two years DDS programs. It will be a bit of investment in time and money. Once you have completed the DDS you will be able to take your OSCE and start practicing as dentist in Canada.
The education requirement for becoming a dentist after clearing the exams and passing the dental admission test and completing 4 years of study is required to earn a doctor of dental surgery degree. You must obtain license from state board of dentistry to practice in this profession.
Hope you query is solved!
All the best!
Hello sir,
The duration of BDS degree ranges from 3 years to 5 years.
There are around 300 dental colleges in India which offer BDS course.
Since, braces are something you can't avoid wearing due to the medical issues itself and thus, they might check you with the metal detector but Yes, braces are allowed in national level exams like NEET, IIT and others.Don't worry they won't object anybody wearing braces throughtout the exam.
Wish you luck!
Good morning ,
The actual marks required to get admission in BDS varies every year according to the difficulty level of the exam and increasing competition .However you need to score more than 50 percentile of qualifying score .In order to be on safe side ,aiming at 350 at least is better option .The more you score ,the chance of getting admission increases .Good luck and hope this information is helpful.
Thank you!
