i got 35 marks inphysics and 37 in chem and 40 in biology so can get admission in dentistry ?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 28th Aug, 2020
Hi

If you want to be a dentist you will have to do BDS i. e Bachelor of dental and surgery.

Now, admission in BDS in through Neet examination whose eligibility criteria says that

to be eligible one must have passed in English and in both the theory and practical of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB ( in theory +practical) in 12th examination if you belong to general category , or at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to Obc/ Sc /st

Now,

Your aggregate in PCB is

35+37+40

= 112

=(112/300*100 )%

=37.3% i.e lesser than 40% , so you are not eligible for Neet even if you belong to OBC/ SC or St category . So irrespective of the category you belong to you are not eligible for Neet

Now that you are not eligible for neet , you can not take admission in BDS and so cannot become a dentist

For detailed information about neet examination go through our page for which link is provided below; -

can I got admission in bds in Indore private college Arvindo of dentistry in 240 marks this year 2020

Sharon Rose Student Expert 18th Aug, 2020

Hello,

Getting a seat in Shri Aurobindo College of Dentistry, Indore depends on the cut off marks. Now, cut off marks does not remain the same. It may increase or decrease depending on number of seats available, number of candidates applied etc. You have not mentioned you category, in 2019 the cut off was as follows

  • Unreserved: 381
  • OBC: 233
  • SC: 126
  • ST: 134

Considering previous year resume you may not get seat if you belong to general category but if you belong to any reserved category then you may  get seat but as said cut off varies every year. But scoring above the cut off marks will give you decent chances of getting seat in this institute. If you belong to general category then you need to score minimum 400 marks.

Sir/madam... is there a rule for B.D.S that if the u.g student didnt gradute for 9 years his/her degrees will be removed...

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 7th Dec, 2019

Ricky, it is not removal of a degree because the student hasn't completed his education and received a degree. There is a stipulated time frame within which you should be completing your BDS. If you fail to do so, your admission will not longer be valid. You may have to go through the process of studying from the scratch again.

When will the externships in Maulana azad dental college start for the year 2020? I have recently passed my BDS from Maharana pratap college of dentistry and research and I want to do my externships from MAIDS?

Animesh Vats Student Expert 6th Mar, 2020

Hi,

I must tell you that first of all the seats are very limited and that is why the internship or jrship is given to students who are institution graduates first and later if vacant is there then other students can be accommodated. So it totally works according to that.

I hope my answer helps.

All the best.
