sir I am a student of class 12th (PCB). I am interested in optometry. I want to know the procedure to be an optometrist after 12th. Im giving boards this year and I need to know what to do after 12th to be an eye doctor without NEET.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 21st Jan, 2021

Hi

I am extremely sorry to tell you dear but if you want to become an  eye doctor i. e ophthalmologist, then you cannot become it without qualifying Neet examination.

This is because,

To become an ophthalmologist need to do MD or Ms ophthalmology and for that you need to first be an MBBS graduate and admission in MBBS is through Neet examination . Thus, there is no way without qualifying Neet.

Here's a brief of how you can become an ophthalmologist :-

* For becoming a ophthalmologist , you need to become a doctor first and for that you need to do MBBS

*Admission in Mbbs is through NEET examination, So, along with your 10+2 keep preparing for Neet examination

* Pass your 12th with at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB ( in theory +practical) in 12th examination if you belong to general category , or at least 45% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to ph category or at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to Obc/ Sc /st to be eligible for neet.

*Appear for Neet examination and qualify it
*Then attend counselling and then on the basis of marks or Rank obtained by you in NEET examination you will get a seat for MBBS in a medical college .

* After the completion of MBBS, you need to appear for PG entrance examination, currently, some of the PG entrance examinations include:-
-) Neet PG ,
-) AIIMS PG
-)PGIMER
-)JIPMER PG.
You can know about different PG entrance examination for MS at
https://dqxeclau.top/courses/ms-master-of-surgery

* if you clear PG entrance examination then to become an ophthalmologist,  on the basis of ranke obtained by you in the examination you can get a seat in MD/MS ophthalmology.

* Pursue your MD/MS ophthalmology. After the completion of which you can practice as an opthalmologist.

If you have any other doubt then you can always reach us to clear them :) we are always available to help you out and guide you

what if i score a good rank in eamcet but could not clear NEET . Am i still eligible to become a doctor? ........

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 17th Jan, 2021
Hi

Through AP EAMCET only following courses are referred:-

*Engineering,
*Bio-Technology,
*B.Tech (Dairy Technology),
*B.Tech (Agri. Engg),
*B.Tech (Food Science and Technology)
*B.Sc. ( Ag)
*B.Sc. ( Hort)
* B.V.Sc. & A.H
*B.F.Sc.
*B.Pharmcy and Pharma. D

You can check the same at its official page the link is provided below

https://sche.ap.gov.in/EAMCET/EamcetHomePages/Courses.aspx

So, yes you can become a doctor but veterinary doctor through AP EAMCET by doing B.V.Sc. & A.H and as veterinary doctor you will be able to only treat animals and not humans.

So,
If you want to become a doctor and treat humans by doing MBBS etc then there is no option other than Neet and if you fail to qualify Neet examination you cannot get admission in any medical college be it government or private and thus cannot become a doctor without Neet examination.

So, I would suggest you to be optimistic for now , don't have negative thoughts that you won't be able to qualify Neet or you will fail in NEET, just use the remaining time for studies, you should focus on your neet preparation following the below tips :-

*Go well through NCERT and master it
*Make routine or timetable :- your routine should revolve around 3 things i.e study, revise and practice
*After finishing each chapter you should practice questions, you should practise at least 80 to 100 numericals / mcqs in Each chapter
*Solve previous year NEET questions
*Once done with complete syllabus, go through NEET mock test papers

And don't worry, you still have time and can definitely crack Neet examination and can get into MBBS as well.

You can prepare well using our neet program for which link is provided below

If you have any other doubt then feel free to ask them :) we are always available to help you out and guide you

mai ek art side student hu aur mujhe kisi bhi haal mai doctor banna h uske liye mai kya kar sakti hu agar mera doctor banne ka ek percent bhi chance h tab bhi mai yeh karungi .d

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 11th Jan, 2021

Hi

To become a doctor you need to do mbbs and admission in mbbs is through neet exam but arts student are not eligible for neet.

So, being an arts student you cannot become a doctor.

Still, you want to pursue mbbs and be a doctor?
Here's the solution :-
Go for  NIOS on demand examination for 12th  with all the  5 subjects including physics ,chemistry biology/biotechnology and English and for the 5th subject you can choose any subject of your choice like Hindi ,Sanskrit, maths or any other subject and after passing,  if you fulfill the percentage requirement in PCB i. e

at least  50  % in aggregate of PCB  i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology  in 12th examination  if belongs to general category , or   at least  40%  in aggregate of PCB if belongs to  Obc/ Sc /st category  , or at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of general pwd candidates to be eligible.

If you fulfill this then,
you will be eligible for neet  and after qualifying neet you can get admission in MBBS on the basis of marks obtained by you in the Neet examination  and after completion of mbbs you will become a doctor and can practice.

How can I become a any type of doctor with bsc degree after 12 means without neet or mbbs. ANY TYPE OF DOCTOR MEANS CHHOTA MOUTA DOCTOR. which bsc degree is helpful for me after 12 th. Please guide.

mjaisinghani62 7th Jan, 2021

Hello aspirant

After xii board or BSC degree , if you want to have "Doctor" tag in front of your name , it won't be possible without entrance exam. To become a doctor or to pursue any medical course NEET is mandatory examination. For mbbs, BDS, veterinary and Ayush courses one can not opt for these courses without cracking Neet.

People study BSC, or any bachelor's degree then they do master's and phD then they are called Doctors.

If you go for  graduation in microbiology then you do DMLT , ( Diploma in medical laboratory Technology) , then you have to give an entrance exam and after doing M.D. program ,you will be called Doctor.
