I have 8944 EWS rank in jee.. Can I get engineering physics in DTU ?
Hello Shivam
Ews is included first time.e in the admissions ; so it is difficult to predict anything right now because we don't know the trends and conditions.
But according to the statics ; with this rank it is difficult time get engineering physics if you are from outside Delhi quota.
And there are chances of you are from Delhi ( because of 85% seats for Delhi)
So good luck
Is the b Tech engineering physics in NIT calicut good in terms of facilities, placements, scope?
Hello,
The admission authority will release the cutoff for top B.Tech branches of NITs for the admission of candidates in different NITs through JEE Main.
Factors determining the NITs cutoff for top B.Tech branches
- Total number of applications received for the admission in the institute
- Total number of candidates appearing for the JEE Main exam
- Number of B.Tech seats available
- The difficulty level of the JEE Main 2019 exam
- Previous years’ cutoff trends
I would suggest you visit the careers360's link given below for detailed info of the cutoff

For a career in Photonics, should I join Industry after Msc or go for Phd ? What would pay more?
- I prefer you go for PhD or instead you can do a integrated program. Integrated msc is better than a msc course As per my knowledge, after HS, one can take graduate courses he want than for master degree, it is helpful to take integrated course as for his future development.
- it isn't necessary to gain a doctorate for every possible career out there. If you are passionate about your subject, thats great! But dont feel that a PhD is a necessary part of your professional development. Instead, considera Masters in relation your personal and professional goals.
Is Phd necessary to have a good career in Photonics ?
Hello Rks,
No, Phd is not must for have a good career . If you have a master degree in photonics and have a good experience in this field then then you might not require any phd degree . So go for experience first and opt field works as much as you can that helps you in increment in your experience in the field .
You can go for the companies like KLA-Tencor and Applied materials look for Application engineers with knowledge on photonics and semiconductors.
Hope it helps.
Thank you :)
I scored 167 in jee mains april 9th second shift can I get engineering physics in nit calicut
Only 30 seats are available at this prestigious institution. So you need really good marks to get admission here.
According to last year's cutoffs, you need 18783 closing rank for home state quota in general category and 14913 in other state quota for general category to get into this course.
For 2017, it was 28880 for home state quota in general category and 16138 other state quota in general category
Since you have scored 167 in JEE Mains you will get about 18300+ rank, with which you can easily get admission to NIT Calicut on the basis of home state quota (general category).
Hope this answers your query!
How to study engineering physics 1 through half lessons to get pass in Anna University
Hello Arun Nivas
Don't panic because physics is not a rocket so keep calm and start studying from now. The first thing that you have to do is get notes of your professor and learn all the basic concept. And don't forget to do your assignment questions. And mug up all the formulae for numericals .And for help you can prefer YouTube to clear your concepts
And also solve previous years question papers as many as you can at least last 5-6 yeas.. If you do all these things you will definitely pass your physics paper
Hope this helps and if you need any help please ask me in comment section .
All the best !!

Dear Aspirant, JEE Advance marks is quite a relative term. It would be great that you focus on your preparation rather than worrying about your rank. According to previous year cutoffs, closing rank for Engineering Physics at IIT Bombay was around 990 and the rank you are targetting is around 200 which is quite good and safe to get admission in this branch. You can check out here for the marks(it is based on previous year's cutoff:-https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-cutoff. All the best!
I am a SC category student so how many numbers I need in jee advanced(2019) to secure my seat in IIT Bombay in Engineering Physics?
I cannot tell you the marks needed but i can surely tell you the rank. That is because there is no fixed pattern for the exam and total marks. The conducting body always surprises students taking the exam. So, the marks needed to score to get IIT Bombay vary according to the total marks.
