best book for btech engineering physics

akshatk 20th Nov, 2020

Hi, here are some of the recommended books for BTech Engineering Physics:

1.Applied Physics by A.K JHA. Its really good and easy to understand

2.Fundamentals of Optics by D.R. Khanna and H.R. Gulati.

3. Introduction to Special Relativity by R. Resnick

Hope this helps! Go for the first one if you want an easy to understand and simple book, but focus on making your own notes as they are absolutely essential as well.

Hope this helps!

Engineering physics and chemistry both are compulsary in aktu btech first semester

S. Saha Student Expert 17th Nov, 2020
First year is mainly same for all branches. In first year, students have to study subjects from all other branches as well for example, Mechanics, basic Electrical and Electronics etc. Less number of core subjects will be there in first year in any branch of Engineering. Mostly the core concepts start second year onwards. This is actually AICTE Curriculum. All the listed subject divided into two semesters.

  • Engineering physics
  • Engineering mathematics -1
  • Engineering mathematics- 2
  • Engineering chemistry
  • Basic of electrical and electronics engineering
  • Communication theory
  • Workshop practice
  • Soft skills
  • Mechanics
  • One or two core subject(s)

I have crl rank of 57578 , female and general category. Can I get Mechanical or engineering physics at nit hamirpur in CSAB counselling?

Shrishty sahu 13th Nov, 2020
Dear student,
By looking at the previous years cut off i can predict that it is nearly impossible for you to get mechanical air engineering physics in NIT hamirpur. However you can get mechanical engineering in some other nit's like nit srinagar or nit mizoram. To check what other colleges you could get, you can visit the following link:

How is integrated Msc physics at Nit Rourkela? Im in dilemma between Nit Agartala engineering physics and it!

Abhishek Roy 12th Nov, 2020

If you are interested in a career in research, integrated M.Sc. in Physics at NIT Rourkela might prove to be a very good choice. NIT Rourkela is one of the best old technical Institutes of India with excellent infrastructure, faculty and research facilities. As far as the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Departmenrs are concerned most of the students prepare for GRE and GATE and move abroad or to higher technical insititutes like Top IITs and IISc Bangalore for their Doctoral Education.

However you should not expect placements from Physics Department in professional research sector. Most of the Companies like Log9Materials, Intel, TCS Innovation demand a doctoral degree.

There are a couple of Technical Institutions and Coaching Organizations like FIITJEE, Byjus, Vedantu and Sri Chaitanya which recruit M.Sc. Graduates but they are less preferred opportunities.

Of course you can develop new skills and master new technologies like AI, Software and Data Science and NIT Rourkela being an Old Insititute you may find a sea of opportunities from Amazon and PayTM to Flipkart and Honeywell in the Non Core Sector ranging from Software to Management.

What should I choose CSE at IIT Varanasi, Electrical at IIT Bombay ,and Engineering physics at IIT Roorkee

myidshivanisrivastava 7th Nov, 2020

Hello Ravi,

The comparison between the given colleges is as follows:

CSE at IIT BHU - Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi is a constituent unit of Banaras Hindu University. It is also known as the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi or IIT (BHU) Varanasi. This is a public university, which offers courses in technology, science and humanities. The college was founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College. In1968, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University. In 2012, the institute beccame Indian Institute of Technology. Its NIRF Ranking is 11. B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology Banaras Hindu University Varanasi has lowest fees. The placement median salary is 13.60 LPA.

EE at IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) was established in 1958 under the Government of India. The institute started functioning with 14 academic departments, 10 centres, two schools and three interdisciplinary programmes. IIT Bombay is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute offered admission to 652 students for undergraduate programmes and 1102 students for postgraduate programmes in the year 2008-2009. IIT B has also provided employment to 495 faculty members in 2008-2009. IIT Bombay provides different undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes related to different disciplines. Its NIRF Ranking is 11. B.Tech Electrical Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has highest cutoff through JEE Advanced. The placement median salary is 11.78 LPA.

Engg. Physics at IIT Roorkee- Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee was established in the year 1956, as the country’s 7th IIT. The institute is also known as IIT Roorkee. In the year 2001, the Government of India declared IIT Roorkee as the “Institution of National Importance”. The Institution plays a vital role in providing the know-how to the country and in pursuit of research and technical manpower. IIT Roorkee courses include 10 disciplines of engineering and architecture at the undergraduate level and 55 disciplines of engineering, applied science, architecture and planning at the postgraduate level. The Institute has a facility for doctoral work in all Departments and Research Centres and apart from UG and PG courses, it also offers Ph.D programmes to the students. Its NIRF Ranking is 12.The placement median salary is 14.51 LPA.

In terms of facilities, all the colleges provide equivalent facilities of hostels, canteen, library, sports and medical services. The banking and ATM facilities are provided at the campuses which facilitate the students to carry out important banking interactions like cash withdrawal or cheque deposits. Sports activities are promoted on the campus.

All the three IITs are equally good, but considering branches, CSE would be best. So , it is completely up to your area of interest, which branch and college you want to take admission in, based on your interests.

after msc(tech) in engineering physics from nit warangal can they are eligible for cisr net physical science? and which is better msc physics or msc(tech) engineering physics??

prince2019ad 3rd Nov, 2020

Hope you are doing good.

let me get straight to the point and tell you that he has you would be eligible for physical science exam of CSIR NET. There would be no problem.

Also MSc tech in engineering physics and msc physics are a bit different.

if you do not want to go into the research field and want a course which is highly industry-specific then you should choose MSc tech in engineering physics.

Most industrial and manufacturing companies would prefer a MSc tech in engineering physics over a MSc physics candidate. Also once in a while government agencies like ISRO and DRDO have specialised vacancies only for MSc tech in engineering physics.

I hope I had cleared your doubt if you have any more questions you can ask them in the comments section.
