hello, I am confused, what percentile and score do I need to get into IIT Bombay , engineering physics department from obc category. Also, I need to know what to do to get into Physics department of IIsc Bangalore?
I believe you are confused. Admission to Engineering Physics Course at IIT Bombay is through JEE Advanced. In JEE Advanced, unlike JEE Main there is no Percentile System. Being from OBC NCL, you need a OBC NCL Rank anywhere around 1.4k to secure your seat at IITB Engineering Physics or a Corresponding CRL between 7.5-8.5k in JEE Advanced. According to my experience, securing anywhere near 35% Marks in JEE Advanced, in a Moderate to Tough Paper, lands you in Rank Range 7-9k, varying with each year.
As far as IISc Bangalore BS Admission Criteria and Cutoffs are concerned do follow the link below

best YouTube channel for: 1)C/c++ Programming 2) Engineering physics 3) Engineering Drawing 4) Engineering mathematics
You should follow NPTEL Channels and streams of Top IIT Professors on Youtube. As far as I remember from my first Year, for Engineering Mathematics, you should follow Videos ans Slides of Prof Jitendra Kumar, IIT Kharagpur and Engineering Physics from Prof Somenath Ghosh, IIT Kharagpur.
There are many good channels for C/C++ Programming and you can also take help from Geeks4Geeks and HackerRank.
dry corrosion is also called as...
Hi.
Dry Corrosion is also known as Chemical Corrosion.
Dry corrosion or oxidation occurs when oxygen in the air reacts with metal without the presence of a liquid. Typically, dry corrosion is not as detrimental as wet corrosion , but it is very sensitive to temperature.
how good is Bennet university for engineering physics??
Hello aspirant,
The Engineering Physics course is only offered by handful of IITs across India and among Universities (Private as well as Public) Bennett is the only place. ... The freedom to choose courses from Law, Liberal Art, Management or Media in the form of open elective and Minor gives an extra edge.
Thankyou
Is bennett university good for engineering physics?? And is there any research opportunity through Engineering Physics in Bennett University?
They claim - Bennett Universityhas established collaborativeprogramswith scientists and faculty from otherresearchorganizations for collaborativeresearchprojects, sharing of facilities, thecombined guidance of students ofthePh. D. program and access to institutional grants.
Very less engineering colleges offer engineering physics course, and Bennett University is one of them. They rate is very high, so if you want to gey admission in it then you can go for it.
For more details about the course, you can checkout the link below:

which is best bennett university for engineering physics or Chandigarh university for bsc physics hons. for career in research... And please suggest other options suitable for research in physics.
Hello
If I am not wrong, BEnnett University provides BTech in Engineering Physics while CU provides Physics Hons.
After BTech you will probably want to get placed or qualify GATE and go for MTech after which if you want to enter research field you will have to go for PhD (the minimum time it will take for you to do this is 11 years).
In BSc hons option, after completing Bsc hons you may go for IIT JAm or DUPGET or BHUPET or other entrances along with GATE and get into MSc in Physics after which once you qualify CSIRNET exam. Onqualifying CSIR NET if you also qualify for JRf (Junior Research Fellowship) you automatically become a rsearch scholar (and you can continue with PhD after which you will become a researcher). (it will take you 8 to 10 years atleast)
can I do PhD in physics if I study b tech engineering physics
Hello Aspirant,
Yes, you can surely do PhD in Physics after B.Tech in Engineering Physics
Usually, students go for Masters Program before PhD. Students who are interested in research, enroll for a Master’s program then convert to a PhD. But a direct admission to PhD after Bachelor’s degree is also an option. There are certain criteria which the applicant needs to meet in order to apply for a Direct PhD admission after a Bachelor’s (B.Tech or B.E.).
In most scenarios, work experience in the field of interest for a year or two is good. The student can carry out some research work in the relevant area while doing his Bachelor’s program. He can also work under his guide for sometime after his graduation to show extra experience in research. A paper publication or technical paper presentation, seminars and extra projects during your Bachelor’s program will reflect your aptitude and interest in research. The Final Year project topic can be selected as per your future research target. You need to assure the work carried out is good and the corresponding letter of recommendation from the guide is of strong preference.
There is also the concept of Majors and Minors. Major is the main subject of specialization. You can specialize in 2 (Double majors) or 3 (Triple Majors). It is better to choose your majors in a way to make your profile stronger for a direct PhD application. For example, if you major in Mathematics and Finance, your chances of getting an admit for a PhD in Quantitative finance or only Finance can get better. Since the students cover subjects relevant to a Master’s program as a part of their theoretical curriculum, they need not worry about prerequisites. Care should be taken to assure that the coursework covered in the Bachelor’s program is equivalent to the corresponding program in the US.
Apart from the above mentioned, the important factors in backing a profile are the documents that go along with your application. A Statement of Purpose should be well written. It should describe your reason behind pursuing a PhD, your area of interest, application and contribution of the research you wish to carry out and how you see yourself progressing with your research in the years to come. A Statement of Purpose can either make or break the deal for you. Your calibre and aptitude need to be showcased in the Statement of Purpose. The next set of important documents is Letters of Recommendation. These should come from your guides/mentors. Your equation and work with the guide matters here. Hence maintaining a healthy rapport and hard work are a must.
Hence, applying for a PhD right after a Bachelor’s program, without doing a Master’s program is possible. It involves a tad bit of more hard work over the 3 or 4 years of Undergraduate life but it pays off in the end.
Hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask more questions.
Have a good day!!
best books for engineering physics, mathematics??
Dear student,
Let me guess, that you are asking for B.Tech books for 1st year for the Physics and Mathematics subject. So I have listed some top books for each subject below.
Engineering Mathematics :
- Higher Engineering mathematics by BS Grewal
- Mathematics by NP Bali
Engineering physics :
- Physics by David J Griffiths
- Engineering physics by Neeraj Mehta
- Physics by DK Bhattacharya
Hope this helps.
