ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 11th Jun, 2021

Hi

With  97.5 percentile

Your ews rank will be around 3500.

With above rank, you have  chances  in following NITs . For example, you have chances in

  • National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar:-Mechanical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)

  • Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur:- civil engineering

  • NIT Nagaland :- computer science

  • NIT Jamshedpur :- mechanical engineering

And a few more

Or alternately you can visit official website of josaa at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Which rank is required by an Ews category student to get NIT ?Or how much marks required to get NIT by an Ews category student??

Aman Mishra 11th Jun, 2021

Hello,

Getting a NIT depends on a lot of factors and also choosing field also matters a lot and talking about EWS category’s student, so basically ranks does not changes more it remains nearby to general category students only you get the benefits of fees which you have to pay very less under this scheme and now for getting top NIT’s in your desired field the cutoffs or rank might go little higher and scoring a good rank in JEE main increases your chance of getting a best NIT’s.

Thank you..

If a Gen.Ews category student score 120 marks then he may be able to get an NIT or not ?? If not then how much marks required to a Ews category student ??

ayanmukherjee045 11th Jun, 2021

Dear aspirant,

It is a bit difficult to predict exact how much marks would be required to get a good nit like jamshedpur, mnit allahabad, Rourkela, jalandhar, surathkal,Trichy. But as per your marks that is 120 on a general basis , it should be around 95.5 percentile but it can vary depending upon the difficulty of the paper , quality of the candidates in that particular shift, vacancy of the seats.

For an EWS candidate atleast 140+ would be a safer side to be.

Sir/Mam, I know that This year cutoff marks of Neet for admissions in Medical colleges will increase. Can you please give me approx. Idea about the cutoff of Delhi govt. colleges Under State Quota. I am from General EWS category.

Maryam Sara 19th Jul, 2021

Dear Aspirant,

The cut-off marks depend on a few factors like:

  • Total number of seats available in various medical and dental colleges across the country.
  • Total number of students appearing for the exam.
  • The difficulty level of NEET for that particular year.

So it is not possible to predict the cut-off of this year. But according to the past years the cut-off has constantly increased due to the above mentioned reasons.

The cut-off of the Delhi Medical Colleges also varies accordingly. Delhi provides 85% reservation of seats for the Delhi domicile students. The results of the 2020 year are as follows:

FOR GENERAL EWS :

  1. University College Of Medical Sciences(UCMS)- 610 MARKS- 5698 AIR
  2. Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC)- 587 MARKS - 10984 AIR

FOR GENERAL CATEGORY :

  1. Maulana Azad Medical College - 647 marks -1115 AIR
  2. University College Of Medical Sciences(UCMS) - 630 marks - 2748 AIR
  3. Lady Hardinge Medical College  - 613 marks - 5228 AIR

You can also check out the cut-off of years 2019, 208 and 2017 on the following link for further information.

I got 88 percentile in JEE mains February attempt 2021. I am from Tamilnadu. I come under EWS category. Is there any private colleges that accept my JEE mark?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 9th Jun, 2021

Hello,

It is quite difficult to predict the colleges because the cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. But we can predict the list of colleges based on the previous year cut off. So here is the list of colleges in which you have chances of getting seat based on previous year cut off with the given score

  • Modern Education Society's College of Engineering, Pune: Computer Engineering
  • Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur: Civil Engineering
  • Shree L.R. Tiwari College of Engineering, Mira Road, Mumbai: Information Technology
  • Dr. D. Y. Patil Pratishthan's D.Y.Patil College of Engineering Akurdi, Pune : Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
  • Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Mumbai: Electronics and Telecommunication Engg

As said the cut off varies depending on the above mentioned factors.

We have JEE Main college predictor tool which you can use to know the colleges in which you have chances of getting admission

I got 88 percentile in JEE mains February attempt 2021. I am from Tamilnadu. I come under EWS category. Can I get CSE course in any of NITs?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 8th Jun, 2021

Hi

With 88 percentile

Your ews rank will be around 16000.

I am extremely sorry to tell you but with above predicted rank you have a very low chance in any NIT for cse

Your homestate is Tamilnadu so you will be eligible for home state quota in NIT trichy,

But even under home state quota chances for cse is low

For example

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, closing rank for gender-neutral for ews category was  7770 ews rank under home state in NIT Trichy for cse

You can check it at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

But yes, you have chances in following branches which are listed below along with closing rank in 6th round counselling 2020 under home state quota in NIT trichy

  • Instrumentation and Control Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology:- 35039 ews rank

  • Mechanical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):-18752 ews rank

  • Production Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):- 50657 ews rank

  • Civil Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) :- 72019 ews rank

UNDER other state

Your chances are low for CSE even in lower NITs under other state.

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, 1828 ews rank for ews category for gender neutral  for other  state was the closing rank in NIT silchar which is one of the lower NITs for cse .

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so

Hi

Vardhman Mahaveer medical College (VMMC) and University College of medical science (UCMS) are among top 10 medical College in India. So cut-off generally seems to be on higher side.

Last year in 2020 , for general category, cutoff rank was in range 163-292 in first round of counseling

For VMMC, cutoff rank for UR category was between 90-138

I hope it helps
