Hello,
Getting a NIT depends on a lot of factors and also choosing field also matters a lot and talking about EWS category’s student, so basically ranks does not changes more it remains nearby to general category students only you get the benefits of fees which you have to pay very less under this scheme and now for getting top NIT’s in your desired field the cutoffs or rank might go little higher and scoring a good rank in JEE main increases your chance of getting a best NIT’s.
Thank you..
Dear aspirant,
It is a bit difficult to predict exact how much marks would be required to get a good nit like jamshedpur, mnit allahabad, Rourkela, jalandhar, surathkal,Trichy. But as per your marks that is 120 on a general basis , it should be around 95.5 percentile but it can vary depending upon the difficulty of the paper , quality of the candidates in that particular shift, vacancy of the seats.
For an EWS candidate atleast 140+ would be a safer side to be.

So here is the list of colleges in which you have chances of getting seat based on previous year cut off with the given score
As said the cut off varies depending on the above mentioned factors.
We have JEE Main college predictor tool which you can use to know the colleges in which you have chances of getting admission
With 88 percentile
your rank will be around 122760 - 138000 per our rank predictor at https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
Your ews rank will be around 16000.
I am extremely sorry to tell you but with above predicted rank you have a very low chance in any NIT for cse
Your homestate is Tamilnadu so you will be eligible for home state quota in NIT trichy,
But even under home state quota chances for cse is low
For example
In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, closing rank for gender-neutral for ews category was 7770 ews rank under home state in NIT Trichy for cse
You can check it at
But yes, you have chances in following branches which are listed below along with closing rank in 6th round counselling 2020 under home state quota in NIT trichy
Instrumentation and Control Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology:- 35039 ews rank
Mechanical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):-18752 ews rank
Production Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):- 50657 ews rank
Civil Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) :- 72019 ews rank
UNDER other state
Your chances are low for CSE even in lower NITs under other state.
For example,
In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, 1828 ews rank for ews category for gender neutral for other state was the closing rank in NIT silchar which is one of the lower NITs for cse .
You can check the same at
Above prediction is on the basis of past year data but cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so
Vardhman Mahaveer medical College (VMMC) and University College of medical science (UCMS) are among top 10 medical College in India. So cut-off generally seems to be on higher side.
Last year in 2020 , for general category, cutoff rank was in range 163-292 in first round of counseling
For VMMC, cutoff rank for UR category was between 90-138
I hope it helps
Best of luck
With this percentile CRL Rank would be: 14424 - 16215 .
