what will be my expected EWS category rank at the percentile of 96.58 in jee main 2021 from last year data pls answer dear career 360 team

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 19th May, 2021

Hi

With  96.58 percentile

Your ews rank will be around 5000.

With above rank, you have a decent chances to get a seat in NIT.

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 ,  6987 ews rank for gender neutral for ews category under other state got civil engineering in NIT Patna

You can check the same  at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Above prediction of colleges is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

sir ,our family are living in a 1000sqft house but as per official paper this property belongs to another person from whom we buy this plot.can i eligible for ews category?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 20th May, 2021

If you have a plot registered in the name of any member of your family which has a area not below 1000 sqft then you will not be eligible for the EWS as per the notification. Although to be sure you may visit the SDO/DM office and get it discussed, they can accurately provide you more specific legal details.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

Anurag Khanna 18th May, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

According to the percentile you have mentioned your CRL rank is expected to be in the range of 123885 - 139265 ,and EWS rank around 18000 you can check out marks Vs  CRL ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

So on such rank and category you have good chances to get the some north-eastern NITs only if you have home state quota like :-

NIT Sikkim

NIT Agartala

NIT Silchar

Otherwise you have very low chances for NITs but you can tryo for some GFTIs or IIITs. You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the official website of JOSAA as given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India on the basis of your JEE-Main 2021 result :-

Hello,

Nothing will happen, if you fail to provide your EWS certificate for the mains examination then you will be considered as a General category candidate and when the final list will be prepared you will be categorised in the general category.

I hope this helps.

I belong to ews category n my family income is less than 2 lakh I want a fee waiver seat in uptu college2021 for btech cse, but I dont know any procedure or councelling anything, can anyone tell me whole procedure step wise

Atul Singh 25th Jun, 2021

Dear darshan,

Now AKTU have stopped UPSEE examination for B.tech course where fee waiver seat actually exist. From this year AKTU will take admission through JEE mains counselling, and still they haven't clarified yet whether they will provide fee waiver seat from this counselling or not.

So just focus on the exam, if the conditions are true and AKTU will provide fee waiver seat then definitely you will get fee waiver seat because you are clearing every criteria to obtain that seat.

Good Luck!!!

Is there any reservation for ews candidates in iiser aptitude test ? and if yes then what is avg cutoff for ews category in this test ?

suchayitaanusaha 21st May, 2021

Hello,

In IISER aptitude test no EWS category cutoff present. It's under your normal cutoff. Like for general and OBC NCL candidate marks minimum 75% and for SC, St candidate marks 60% in this Aptitude Test. But IISER have EWS category student seat in their college.

All the best.

Plz explain the reservation of EWS category in iit and nit.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 14th May, 2021

hi,

ews stands for economically weaker section, students who does not belongs to any other category, have satisfied the criteria given for ews category are eligible to apply for it. now coming to nits, admission to engineering courses is based on jee main exam, 10% seats are reserve for ews category in nits or institute under central government.

Admission to IITS is based on jee advance score, you need to first qualify in jee main exam, then you would be eligible for jee advance test. however 10% seats are reserve for ews candidates for admission to b.tech courses.

Akash Singh 19th Jun, 2021

Dear student,

As you have mentioned that you have got 75 percentile in JEE MAINs, and you belong to EWS category. If we observe the previous year Percentile vs EWS rank then on 75 percentile you will probably getting the EWS rank somewhere between 36,000 to 40,000 .

And if we look at the last year(2020) cutoff of Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology(DAIICT), Gandhinagar, then all the seats get full before mere 200 EWS rank . Below I am showing you the cutoff of DAIICT Gandhinagar.

Below is the opening and closing rank of this college in 2020.

Information and Communiac- 157                                 183

-ation Technology

Mathematics & Computing 169                                194

By this analysis, it is not possible for you to get a seat in DAIICT, Gandhinagar.

You can check more about this college by clicking on the link below.

i got 89.197432 percentile ews category in jee mains feb attempt. can i get any nit or state college ?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 9th May, 2021

Hello,

If we use our JEE Main rank predictor tool, the predicted overall rank is 111200 - 125005 . The link to the rank predictor tool is:

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor/

The category rank will be around 50,000. Based on the previous year cut off you do not have chances of getting seat in NITs with such rank. You need to score minimum 96-98 percentile or above to get seat in NIT. However, you have chances of getting seat in colleges accepting JEE Main and here is the list of colleges in which you may get seat based on previous year cut off

  • Kolhapur Institute of Technology's College of Engineering(Autonomous), Kolhapur: Computer Science and Engineering
  • S.I.E.S. Graduate School of Technology, Nerul, Navi Mumbai: Information Technology
  • Ankush Shikshan Sanstha's G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur: Artificial Intelligence
  • Institute of Engineering Jiwaji University, Gwalior: Computer Science and Engineering
  • Institute of Peoples Science and Technology, Chitrakoot, Satna: Information Technology

Cut off changes every year depending on various factors like number of seats available, difficulty level of exam and number of candidates appeared etc.
