aditya 17th Apr, 2021

hello dhanusri

I hope you are doing good. As per you query ,I would like to inform you that from last  year  2020 session ,ews category was reserved from the last year exam which is 10 percent of total number of seats but it was last minute decision . If we come to your query , I would like to tell you that in many application forms open catgeory are written in place of ews which means the same , I would advise you to check again your application form and have a look their must be written somewhere either open ews or ews category

Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future

can I get college In josaa counseling with 88 percentile In jee main 2021 by EWS category??

sheemaashraf123 10th Dec, 2021
It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS/SC/ST/FEMALES/OBC category is lower than the general category

If you manage to qualify JEE Main Cutoff, You would be eligible for JEE Advance which is the intake exam for IITs as mentioned above.

However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced

But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly

For the college preferences and the courses provided by these colleges and to know which colleges participate in the JOSAA counselling, please go to the below mentioned link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-participating-institutes/amp

I got 92.5 percentile in jee mains 2021, I belong from EWS category. Can I get a seat at ECAM at NSUT?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 14th Apr, 2021

Hi

With 92.5  percentile

Your profile suggest that you are from Delhi

It is quite difficult to make prediction but yes as per previous year trend

You have good chances in NSUT under Delhi region reservation with your rank for Electronics and Communication Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) (ECAM)

For example,

In 10th round of JAC counselling 2020,closing crl rank for ews category in NSUT for Delhi region was 86490 for Electronics and Communication Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) (ECAM)

You can check the same at

https://cache.careers360.mobi/media/uploads/froala_editor/files/1609130378phpjG8sWk.pdf

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

koi gfti college mil sakta hai 84 percentile ews category iss saal?? (lower branch bhi chalega apun ko)

Sharon Rose Student Expert 12th Apr, 2021

Hello,

With 84 percentile the predicted rank is 163680 - 184000.  The expected overall rank can be checked using our JEE Main rank predictor tool

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor/

The category rank is expected to be around 40000. With such rank it is difficult to get seat even in GFTIs. Your category rank should be within 10,000 considering the previous year cut off. So you will have to score minimum 92-94 percentile to secure such rank in upcoming sessions. You may have chances of getting seat in private colleges accepting JEE Main score. Few colleges are listed below in which you may get admission

  • International Institute of Information Technology (I²IT), Pune: Electronics and Telecommunication
  • Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Navi Mumbai: Information Technology
  • Terna Engineering College, Nerul, Navi Mumbai: Computer Engineering
  • Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur: Civil Engineering
  • Priyadarshini Bhagwati College of Engineering, Harpur Nagar, Umred Road,Nagpur: Computer Science and Engineering

Depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of exam and number of seats available, the cut off is subjected to change. You can use our JEE Main college predictor tool to know the colleges in which you may get seat

How much rank required to get into iist kerala if Im from EWS category..12k will be sufficient?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 21st May, 2021

Hello,

Admission to Undergraduate courses in Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram is on basis of merit in JEE Advanced. In 2020 the cut off rank for EWS category was as follows branch-wise

  • Aerospace Engineering: 172
  • Electronics and Communication: 196
  • Dual Degree: 210

Considering the previous year cut off rank with 12,000 rank you do not have chances of getting seat in IIST, Thiruvananthapuram. You need to secure a rank below 200 to have decent chances of getting seat. Cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

You can use our JEE Main college predictor to know the colleges in which you may get seat

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer
