I have secured 92percentile in jee main 2021 Iam gen.ews category kya mujhe low nit me koi branch mil sakta hai

mjaisinghani62 9th Apr, 2021

Hello aspirant

92 percentile in Jee main is quite good score but whether you will get NIT seat depends upon cut off NIT 2021. Cut off changes every year and also depends upon number of candidates appeared in exam, availability of seats, difficulty level of exam and previous year's cut off etc.

Now as you are from Bihar NIT Patna 2020 cut off for CS branch was 11401 rank ( round 1)

For electronic and communication engineering cut off was rank 16671 ( round 1)

You can try in states like Punjab, Haryana

I have filled the form in EWS category but it is showing my category genral on admit card?

suchayitaanusaha 7th Apr, 2021

Hello,

If you filled your EWS category in form fill up then don't worry your rank will come out with general category rank and EWS category rank.

EWS means economical weaker sections. If your parents income less than 8 lakh per annum then you are under EWS category. And 10% seats are reserved for every colleges EWS category. It's not under the reservation category seats like OBC, St or SC.

Your admit card came as a general category student it's okay. But your result will give you two ranks. You can also call helpline number of your examination which you are not mentioned above. They will confirm you that its not very much worried case.

All the best.

I got 88 percentile in march attempt and I belong to EWS category Do I get any NIT or IIIT or GFTIs on this percentile ?

Ashish Kumar Verma 6th Apr, 2021

Hello Dear,

As per the  percentile mentioned by you in Feb shift your General rank between 5003 - 3932. On 127 marks mentioned by you in March shift your percentile varies between 97.81-98.25 your General rank between 115045 - 85657. Your EWS category rank will be little less. There is a very less chance you can get any NIT/IIIT and GFTI college. You can try out for some college in your home state.

But there is fair chance yo can get private college on your desired branch.

My category is BC-E and my family annual income is less than 8 lac so does I come under OBC or EWS category

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 3rd Apr, 2021

Hi

You are under obc and not ews.

Reason :-

You belong to bc-E which comes under obc, actually it is a sub- category of obc.

For example,

in bihar , obc is further divided into BC - I and BC - II.

WHY NOT EWS?

You are under obc reservation and thus not eligible for ews.

This is because,

to be eligible for ews,

-) you shouldn't be covered under the scheme of reservation for OBCs ,SCs and STs

-)your gross family annual income from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc. must be less than 8 lakh rupees

-) irrespective of the annual family income one won't be eligible for ews reservation if his /her family owns

a) agricultural land of 5 acres and above

b) Residential area of 1000 sq ft. and above

c) Residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities

d) Residential, plot of 200 sq. yards or  above 200 sq. yards in  the areas which are those other than the notified municipalities.

You can check the same at its official page the link is provided below

I got 75 percentail in jee mains and Im belongs to ews category can i get admission in nit or iit

sheemaashraf123 30th Nov, 2021
It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS/SC/ST/FEMALES/OBC category is lower than the general category

If you manage to qualify JEE Main Cutoff, You would be eligible for JEE Advance which is the intake exam for IITs as mentioned above.

However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced

But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly

For the college preferences and the courses provided by these colleges and to know which colleges participate in the JOSAA counselling, please go to the below mentioned link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-participating-institutes/amp
