my Ews certificate has an validity for the year 2019-20..but it was issued on 19 Sept 2019. I have applied for for GATE 2021 on 24-sept 2020 under EWS category .. Will I be disqualified?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 30th Jan, 2021

hi,

as for gate 2021 official brochure, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates are NOT required to submit / upload any category certificate while filling the online application form. however during the time of admission or psus interview you have to show the updated certificate. however due to covid 19 pandemic the

up dation process has slowed down for different certificate related issues. so I guess it would not be an issue and your candidature would remain as qualified.

I am an Jee mains candidate, I belong from EWS category, so my fathers EWS certificate is valid or not?

Shrishty sahu 6th Jan, 2021
Dear student,
To avail the ews reservation you need to produce your ews certificate and not your father's ews certificate. One only needs her father's annual income certificate if his/her father is the only earning person in the family or family's annual income certificate to prove to apply for ews certificate. So if you want to be treated as an ews candidate then apply for your ews certificate as soon as possible otherwise you will be treated as a general candidate.

if my all india rank is 4000 and Im in ews category also Im from Telangana, can i get nit warangal CSE by applying ews and home state quota??

Anurag Khanna 13th Feb, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See if you are from EWS category then your EWS rank will be considered for admission through JOSAA Counselling on the basis of your JEE-Main score.

As we go through the latest cut-off of 2020 then it shows that the closing EWS rank for NIT Warangal was 372 for CSE branch in NIT Warangal under Home state quota for EWS category. Now to secure such rank you should have your JEE-Main 2021 AIR around 3000-3500 as per previous year's analysis so you have little less chances of getting CSE in NIT Warangal even under Home state quota on such AIR. of 4000.

if I get 150 marks in jee advance, then which iit college I get for CSE of EWS category?

Anurag Khanna 4th Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See it is quite difficult to predict the exact colleges for you on the basis of your marks for JEE-Advance because for JEE-Advance no maximum marks are fixed but yes if we go with the analysis of JEE-Advance 2020 rank Vs marks, when JEE-Advance was of total 360 marks,  then your CRL rank is predicted to be in the range of 10,000-15,000. Now on such rank it's quite difficult to get CSE branch in any of the IITs because for CSE branch the closing rank for IITs is maximum upto 5500 and even belonging to EWS category you have very less or almost no chances in any of the IITs for CSE branch with such marks or rank.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.
