I got 20322 rank in jee mains under ews category. In which college can I get cse group? My home state is Telangana.

gourik13012001 29th Sep, 2020

Dear student,

It’s difficult to tell you the exact about your admission possibilities but as per the previous year cut off as an EWS category the chance seems less to get a seat in NITs, IIITs & GFTIs however you can try for state counselling in Telengana.

To know your admission chances in JOSSA & State counselling you can use JEE Main college Predictor tool.

Hope this was helpful.

SANKET GHOSH 29th Sep, 2020

Hello Satyam,

See, at this moment it is not possible for you to change your category from general to EWS in your jee main result sheet.

The only change you  can do  is during the correction portal of JEE Main, which happens only before the examination is conducted.

You can check out this link for JEE college predictor tool for the colleges you may under your rank

Can I expect a govt mbbs seat in west bengal. my marks is 508 and I am ews category state quota.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 29th Sep, 2020

Hi

It's quite difficult to predict that whether you will get  seat or not as  cut off marks for medical colleges keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc.

But when we go through previous data then it suggests that with 508 marks you hold  a chance to get  a seat in a Government Medical College

For example,
in neet 2019, 504 marks for ews category got a seat in MALDA MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL, MALDA under west Bengal state quota

To get the list of colleges in which you have chances, you can go through our college predictor at

https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

It gives you a personalized report with top college in which you have chances for admission , with the help of predicted colleges you can make better choice while filling your choices of colleges during your counselling

Thankyou

in neet application form i select ews category , but during counseling in state i have state ews but not central ews.. so can it affect my admission or they will treat me as general category student?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 29th Sep, 2020

EWS reservation is for those Candidates that belong to General Category and who do not claim any reservations that are available for OBC,SC,ST. Now a General Category is a General Category across India. Now there are few Communities that belong to BC at State level and belong to General Category at Central Level. They can be checked under Central OBC list. But there is no such Central EWS list. Your State issued EWS Category is valid across India. So if you have EWS reservation and a Certificate, you can claim EWS reservation at both Central and State level Counsellings.

wht if one doesnt gets admission thru normal cutoffs but thru reservations like cw quota plus ews category , is there any chances that only thru cw quota one can get into du

Mrinalini Sarkar 8th Nov, 2020

Hello,

Yes it is absolutely possible to get admission through CW quota in DU. There is no such cutoff mentioned for CW Quota so you just need to belong to CW category and have the following documents:

  • CW Quota certificate.
  • Dependent card.
  • Pay slip of your father ( if available).
  • Documents of 12th standard.

In my opinion it would be enough for getting an admission in DU through CW quota.

Hope it helps.

Good luck.

I got 38435 in jeemains from ews category plz tell me which college I can get NIT

Nikhitha Sai 28th Sep, 2020

Hello Student,

A rank of 38435 in ews is a bit low of a rank. Due to the competition increasing by the minute everyday, the need for scoring higher marks and scores keep increasing more and more. Hence, unfortunately the top nits and IITs would be tough to get into with this score. Also other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes ( CFTIs) such as the IIITs also would be a bit tough.

However, since you have mentioned that you belong to the ews category, the chances of you getting into some some of these universities are a bit more. There are some other universities into which you have a good chance of getting into. Hence I would suggest you to apply for other universities. But due to the high competition it would be advisable to apply to other universities.

Some other good universities with this rank would be:

1. SSN College of Engineering, Chennai

2. SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur

3. Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh

4. Delhi University

5. Shiv Nadar University

6. VIT, Vellore

7. Manipal Institute of Technology
