I got 24850 rank in ews category can I get seat in nits

ayanmukherjee045 17th Sep, 2021

Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned that you have got 24k rank in ews category so let me tell there is no chances that you will get any of the nits in ews category because the cut offs are far high.

You need to be atleast under 8k rank to get a decent nit and that too lower nits ,lower branches.

l have secured 89.895 percentile in Jee mains under EWS category with 13408 rank will l get into NIT Warangal under home state quota as last year the cut off rank for CSE was 14008

Anurag Khanna 19th Sep, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-

Closing EWS rank for NIT Warangal was :-

  • Computer Science and Engineering  branch - 372 (Home state quota)

So you have no any chances to get NIT Warangal with Computer Science and Engineering  branch even if you have Home state quota.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

I got 89.8 percentile in Jee Main 2021, EWS category. What would be my AIR and what colleges can I get admitted into?

Harsha Sinha 16th Sep, 2021

Hi there,

Since your percentile score is 89.8 and you belong to ews Category then your AIR would be around 1.2lakhs and your category rank would be around 15k .

Hence with these score you can get some good colleges and if you have any nit or iiit in your state then you can avail that benefit also.

But the chances are very low of getting into the nits or iiits but you might get a seat until the last rounds but chances for that is low.

There are other college where you can definitely get a seat like

  • BIT meshra (branch campus)
  • Jecrc
  • Thapar
  • Pec
  • Bit sindri etc

These are some college options, for more college options you can use our college predictor tool

In NIT, IIIT, GFTI How many Seats does female Candidates contain in Open category and EWS Category.

Vedang Ranmale 26th Oct, 2021

Hello student,

Unlike last year when the female quota was set at 20 per cent. However, for 2021, the IITs will have to ensure that the enrolment of females in each IIT is at least 20 per cent. Although seats offered under the female quota are supernumerary in nature, meaning the seats are created in addition to the existing seats. The total stats of Female reservation in all categories as of 2021 is 2437 , where 1534 seats are reserved in IITs , 398 in NITs , 305 in IIITs , and almost negligible seats in supernumerary for GFTIs. However, there may be earlier seats that have already been reserved for female category in GFTIs. Dohave a look at that too.

I hope this helps, All the Best!

hii... i am from gen ews category my percentile was 80 i have cleared jee mains as gen ews cut off was 66 ....my rank is 28k but in jee adv eligibility criteria its was given only 23k students ... so am i eligible to give jee adv or not?? can i give jee adv 2021

Anurag Khanna 16th Sep, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Don't worry you are eligible for JEE-Advance 2021 because your eligibility is decided on the basis of your JEE-Main percentile not rank.

As the cut-offs are released along with the JEE-Main 2021 result so now it is clear that at what percentile the candidate is eligible for JEE-Advance 2021. As per the NTA, qualifying cut-offs goes like :-

==>> Common Rank List (CRL) - 87.8992241-100.0000000 Percentile

==>> GEN-EWS - 66.2214845-87.8950071 Percentile

==>> Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 68.0234447-87.8950071 Percentile

==>> Scheduled Caste (SC) - 46.8825338-87.8950071 Percentile

==>> Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 34.6728999 87.8474721 Percentile

==>> PwD - 0.0096375-87.8273359 Percentile

So with 80 percentile you are qualified for JEE-Advance 2021 and you can apply for JEE-Advance 2021 using the official site given below :-

Is Ews category means only for OC students ??

Sriya Bose Student Expert 16th Sep, 2021
Hello Aspirant!

The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) is a subcategory of the General/UR/OC individuals, who have their yearly income less than 8 lac rupees. The individuals do not belong to any other SC, ST or OBC categories. So yes, EWS is only for OC.
