I have 73% in 10th,12th and 56% in Btech. How much percentile is needed to get a call from old IIMs? Cetegory: SC Work Exp: 2 years

GOURAV KUNDU 9th May, 2020

Hello!

The selection process of an IIMs is extremely rigorous which requires lots of preparation specially in Ahmedabad Bengaluru n Calcutta.

As you have mentioned your 10th and 12th CGPA is fair enough. But for science stream student in graduation 70 percentile is required (For SC).

I failed in pcmb in class11. My parents are insisting now that i repeat class11 using humanities ,as there is no guarantee that my 12th boards exam results will be good, but i think i can do it and they think if i take humanities,i would get far more better opportunities and marks. shall i repeat?

Shaurya Kapoor 11th Mar, 2020

See the repetition is based on your choice and not necessarily your parents's choice. It is understandable that they might be in denial because you flunked class 11. But if you are not into humanities then you should not opt for the same. Try to make them understand that you want PCMB and you will work twice as hard for the same. They might give in to your heed.
Also in terms of opportunities both the fields are good and will require someone who works hard.

Best Of Luck!!!!!!!!

What if someone has compartment exam but qualified in college entrance exam. Will college wait for his compartment exam results?? or they will cancel the admission

Anurag Khanna 6th Mar, 2020

Hi Shivesh,

Hope you are doing well!! Different colleges have different eligibility criteria for admissions.

Generally every college demands qualified student and you should clear the qualifying exam. College entrance exam is the last step conducted to check the eligibility for student.

If compartment result comes before the last date of admission in college then you can take admission otherwise you have to wait for a year.

Hope this helps you.

All The Best!!

How can I score 100 marks in computer? Actually I am a ready to bear the burnt of examination but then also model exam results of mine are getting low. If you know any way pls immediately assist me yeah.

Anurag Khanna 13th Feb, 2020

Dear student,

Scoring merely 100 marks is not a victory. If you have proper knowledge (Practical+Theoretical knowledge) of the subject then you can easily achieve as many marks as you want, not only in computer subject but in other subjects also. Earlier getting lower marks does not mean that you will always get lower marks. It is totally based upon your determination and hard work.

Computer is very practical subject which cannot be learnt theoretically so you have to focus on practical knowledge of that subject. For example, if you have to understand HTML coding then it is not possible to learn all the codes simultaneously, so what you can do is you have to learn the basics of HTML like how to start the coding, different points to be used, etc. then start doing that coding in your computer which makes you more comfortable with understanding the practical knowledge of HTML. Now, you can use that coding for different purposes which makes you much aware of that field. Similarly you can try this process with other topics also because if you are studying computer subject without making contact with a computer then it is not fruitful for you.

So if you face difficulty in theoretical learning then you can go for practical learning. Please keep in mind that bearing the pain is not an ultimate solution to any problem so there is no need to take tension in exams.

A relaxed mind can catch things easily and accurately as compared to the fatigue mind. So be cool, calm, relaxed and confident whatever you do.

Good Luck !!
