my jee mains rank is 400000.i want to get in industrial and production branch .is there any direct admission procedure to get in ?

Abhishek 13th Jul, 2024

Hi there,

At the rank of 400000, it is difficult to get admission in  top engineering colleges in industrial and production branch since the cutoff generally remains low for these top colleges.

You can opt for the state counselling , on the spot admission and various other admission procedures to get admission in your preferred branch in the various colleges where you are eligible for the admissions.

There are some colleges in which you can get the admission but you have to check the eligible colleges in which you are eligible . You can take help from our college predictor which will tell you about the colleges in which you can take the admission and in your preferred branch,\.

Ive scored 91. 7 percentile in jee mains student of general catagory. Can I get seat in PEC chandigarh in lower branch in home state quota. Branch may be civil or industrial and production.

Kanishka kaushikii 2nd Sep, 2024

Hello aspirant,

Your chances of securing a seat in PEC Chandigarh for a lower branch like Civil or Industrial and Production Engineering in the Home State Quota with a 91.7 percentile in JEE Mains.

Factors to Consider:

  • Previous Year Cutoffs: Refer to the previous year's cutoff ranks for the branches you're interested in, specifically for the Home State Quota. This will give you a good estimate of the competition.
  • Seat Availability: The number of seats available in each branch can fluctuate from year to year.
  • Counseling Dynamics: The counseling process can be dynamic, with seat allotments and cutoffs changing with each round.

Based on the limited information provided, it's challenging to predict your exact chances. However, a 91.7 percentile is a decent score, and you have a reasonable chance of securing a seat in a lower branch like Civil or Industrial and Production Engineering in PEC Chandigarh under the Home State Quota.

Here are some tips:

  • Participate Actively in Counseling: Be diligent during the counseling process and strategically choose your college and branch preferences.
  • Explore Other Options: If you don't secure your preferred branch in PEC Chandigarh, consider other reputable engineering colleges in your home state or explore options outside of PEC.
  • Stay Updated: Keep track of the latest information and announcements regarding counseling rounds and seat allotments.

Remember, the final decision depends on various factors, including the overall competition and the specific cutoffs for the year.

I hope this helps!

How is Production engineering branch in NIT Jalandhar, NIT Calicut & NIT Kurukshtera? Can these options be preferred over Tire-2 IIITs?

Tanya Gupta 22nd Nov, 2024

The Production Engineering branch is a great option to consider at NIT Jalandhar, NIT Calicut, and NIT Kurukshetra.

At NIT Calicut, the Production Engineering program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in mathematics, science, and engineering fundamentals. The program focuses on developing students' skills in areas like manufacturing systems, quality control, and supply chain management. With a sanctioned intake of 59 students, the program offers a great student-faculty ratio, allowing for personalized attention and mentorship.

Similarly, at NIT Jalandhar, the Industrial and Production Engineering program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the industry. The program covers a wide range of topics, including manufacturing processes, production planning, and control systems.

NIT Kurukshetra also offers a strong Production Engineering program, with a focus on developing students' skills in areas like manufacturing technology, industrial engineering, and quality control

Considering these options over a tier 2 college is a great idea. NITs are reputable institutions that offer high-quality education, excellent faculty, and great placement opportunities. While tier 2 colleges may also offer good programs, the NITs have a distinct advantage when it comes to reputation, faculty quality, and placement records. So, if you have the opportunity to join any of these NITs, it's definitely worth considering.
