i am interesting in arts. i want to join in bachelor of fine arts. so what we have to do for admission.

kritiesse 6th Oct, 2020

Hello, its amazing that you're going for a field that has a lot of independent exposure and scope in the coming years.

As for getting Admission in Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), the basic eligibility criteria stands as follows:

• Aspirants have to pass their (10+2) Higher Secondary schooling with 50% marks from a recognized Board.

• Some colleges do conduct an additional Entrance Exam for admission in their respective colleges. Some of the most sought after Entrance Exams for BFA are : JNUEE (Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam) Banaras Hindu University Entrance Exam and Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET)

In most colleges BFA is a 3 year undergraduate programme where you can choose to specialise in interesting subjects like ceramics, painting, sculpting, art history, illustration, graphic design, photography etc.

BFA is considered to be one of the most prestigious degrees and has a high scope right now as well as in the coming years because of its focus on intensive art and design studies.

There are a lot of presently existing and upcoming career options in this field, some of which include being an Illustrator, graphic designer, writer, art teacher, interior and spatial designer, animator, concept artist, multimedia programmer and many more that you can make for your own self!

Although, many colleges are very lenient with their admissions in this degree, the interviewing team do look for a certain skill set in the aspirant before they give admission. This skill set is privy to the Fine Arts degree and to the artist inside you.

It includes having :

• Sketching skills • Painting skills • Artistic skills • Creative Imagination • Good Communication Skills

But keep in mind that a BFA degree does not only revolve around these practical skills and courses. Colleges do urge you to take up theory subjects with a wide variety to choose from, like English, Health Sciences, Hindi, Marketing/ Marker Research, Entrepreneurship, Design Theory, Environmental Studies and many more.

The average cost of the course varies from college to college, starting from as low as 6k and going up to even 1Lakh or sometimes more.

As any student aspiring to make their future bright, the starting salary for a person with a BFA degree is 2Lacs per annum which extends upto 10-12 Lacs per annum. It can go even further, should you get even more qualifications and improve your skills to stay at par with the changing times.

Top colleges in India for Bachelor Of Fine Arts:

• Amity university

• Manipal University

• JNU

• College of Arts, University of Delhi

• International Institute of Fine Arts, Delhi

• University of Hyderabad

• Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi

• College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad

The top companies that recruit students with a BFA degree are :

Hope this helped! Good luck!

sir I have HINDI ,ENGLISH,IP,PHYSICAL EDUCATION,FINE ARTS in my 12th class and got 82, 82, 84, 64 ,84 respectively, which subjects can i take for best four according to DU.Can I get admission in BCA .

Prachi Pant 20th Oct, 2020

Hey

Physical education is not considered as a core subject therefore you can't add physical education while calculating your best of four percentage.

For the calculation of best of four percentage, 1 compulsory language subject and 3 elective subjects are taken into consideration. Delhi University has its own criteria for calculating the eligibility for getting admission therefore the subjects are to be chosen from the list A and list B prescribed by the university itself.

To know in detail about calculating best of four marks, check the link below -
