Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you food facilities in hostel mess are very average you can't expect very good food nor very bad. One should be addictive regarding foods which they get and should never deny it as mess foods are not at all comparable to home cooked food exceptions are every where.

1)Wash vegetables and fruits thoroughly

2)Clean the Kitchen Rags Regularly

3)Segregate the Chopping Boards and Clean the Kitchen Cabinets and Refrigerator regularly.

1)Make sure to sweep the areas using a broom and mop ,make sure there is good air ventilation.
