Geology means study of Earth or Earth science. It is about study of the liquid and solid matter that comprises the surface of Earth.
You can pursue either BSC or b tech in geology. Subjects in BSC geology are structural geology, physical geology, mineralogy, crystallography and mineral optics. Course duration is 3 years .
Fees structure- rs10,000 - RS 1 lakh / annum
For B tech course fees may be higher.

B.Sc. Geology is an UG level Bachelor of Science Degree course. Course is of 3 year duration.
Basic eligibility criteria required for getting admission in colleges is that you must be , 10+2 passed with Science stream subjects from a recognized board. Minimum aggregate marks required in main Science subjects (PCM/B) is around 55% marks.
Most of the institutes and Universities follow merit based admission process. Marks scored by you in 12th board examination and/or relevant entrance test are taken into consideration.

In India High Paying Jobs means 1Lakh per month just after the Graduation.
Just after bsc geology you can't get a high paying job in your area of interest i.e in Geology field. Various other scopes opens only after completing your Msc or sometimes Phd.
Otherwise you can try UPSC CSE as it can provide a high paying government job and a respectable post of IAS or IPS.

Top recruiter are SAIL, Coal India, ONGC, RIL, NIO,DRDO, ISRO, etc. Scope increases after pursuing higher studies, and for those with inclination towards research and teaching can do PhD after Master's. You can qualify NET/SET to become assistan professor or you can also continue your higher studies while getting stipend simulaneously.For teaching in school you need to have BEd and qualify CTET or state level TETs. You cannot have a choice of leaving Geology and appear in Geophysics alone.You may personally choose not to attempt question on Geology but it is not advised to do so.
