Harvard
Hello P.bharat kumar
I hope you are doing good . I would like to know you that the procedure in getting admission in foreign universities is very different then getting admission in universities of india . Like in india ,foreign university dont give admission to students based marks scored in 10to12 or score in ug . Though its marks are considered but percentage of consideration is very low .Admission are basically given to students based on their profile that what you will give to their university and their country . Following are the factors which are considered.
1. Letter of recommendation
2. Statement of purpose
3. Academics score
4. Work experience
5. Score of language proficieny test
Try to build your profile and aims for other universities if you failed to get admission in harvard , cambridge so that your year can be saved
Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future
Hello Aspirant,
Harvard Medical School (HMS) is Harvard University’s graduate medical school. It is situated in the Mission Hill neighborhood’s Longwood Medical Area in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 1782, HMS is one of America’s oldest medical schools and ranked first among research-oriented medical schools in the U.S. rankings for 2020 by the news and the report of the world.
The eligibility criteria for Indian students to get through Harvard Medical School are as follows:
Thus, I do not think you will be eligible for admission to HMS according to your marks in 10+2.
Hope this answers your question. Feel free to ask more questions.
All the best!!
Greetings,
here are some simple steps to get into Harvard Med school after 12th in India;
- Finish your 10+2 in PCB with minimum 70%
- Appear for SATs (for admission into undergraduate courses in the US) and score well enough to get into a pre-med school (minimum 4 years of pre-med school is required before applying for a full fledged medical course)
- after completions of pre-med appear for MCAT and score really really well in it (a highly competitive and technical graduate level exam to get admission into actual med schools in US, Harvard included)
- Your scores, other achievements and general CV experience will determine your chances of getting into Harvard once you apply.
- It will be a 4 year Med school program at Harvard after which you get to do internship (the number of internship years depend upon which residency you choose), you also get an option to intern in your home country.
- Be a doctor and work hard for the community
Cons:
- Very expensive course (Harvard tuition for med school alone is 60,000$ per annum)
- MCAT is pretty hard as well as competitive being a graduate level exam especially compared to NEET in India which is meant for high school students
- It takes longer to become an actual medical practitioner in the US (around 8 years of college, not counting your PG degree)
Pros:
- Great pay as expected
- Great reputation worldwide
Best of luck if you do plan on going that way,
Good day!
Hello Aspirant
Ofcourse there is a possibility of doing graduate in foreign universities like Harvard and Stanford but for that you will need to maintain atleast 8.5 CGPA for 4 years and have many internships and projects in your college time and even have a 2-3 year industry knowledge after doing B.tech and you will need to get really Good marks in GRE(exam you need to give to do masters in abroad ) and IELTS/TOEFL(english exam to prove that you know english compulsory) and maybe even CAT exam.If you follow all these then only you will be able to study in a foreign university .
Hope it helps you
Hey there!
I understand why you would have this question, a lot of us think the exact same thing. The thing is the Indian education system is more focused in theoretical knowledge and grades so to say. It looks like it's changing slowly but till then we'll have to make do with what we have.
Dear student,
If you're going for undergrad then SATs are a must, for postgraduate you have to fulfill certain criteria, being a graduate being the main one.
With a GPA of 4.18, Harvard requires you to be at the top of your class. You'll need nearly straight A's in all your classes to compete with other applicants
Hope this helps.
You haven't mentioned the course you are studying in first year. But going by our previous question, this answer is being written. Harvard doesn't have the option of accepting Transfer students. Harvard University has its own eligibility criteria for admission to study Medicine. Its just not with India, they do not have a transfer student policy within Harvard. You can check the rules at their official website at: https://meded.hms.harvard.edu/admissions-selection-factors . Neither can you discontinue MBBS in India and apply for Harvard either because the rule states that any Candidate who has enrolled to Medical Course earlier is also ineligible for any transfer to Harvard. To study Medicine at Harvard, you should have completed your Bachelor's degree. But for other courses like liberal arts course, Harvard does have a transfer policy. Candidates who have completed one Academic year can opt for a transfer. But should not complete 2 Academic years. Please check the official website at : https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/apply/transfer-applicants

According to the QS World University Rankings, Stanford is at number 2 position, and Harvard at number 3. But the ranking alone is not enough to compare the 2 colleges. For different courses, one would fare better than the other. The faculty and placements for one course might be better in one of the two colleges. The infrastructure of both is equally amazing.
