The best universities for hospitality and leisure management in the world include:
A career in tourism may not sound like a sound option if you are looking for job security or a high pay. On the other hand, if you have an interest in the stream, then it is worth pursuing regardless of the practical implications, because sometimes such nonconventional careers do pay off; for around 10% of the graduates in the stream. In such a case, it would be best to pursue a degree program in hospitality and tourism in order to increase your job prospects as well as your qualification in the same.
If instead, you have no inherent interest in tourism and simply want to see if you would be comfortable with a career in it, then a diploma is the cheaper option, although personally, I wouldn't opt for a diploma option unless it is at one of the top universities for hospitality in the country i.e. IHM. Therefore, a diploma in tourism would truly be worth doing only from one of the best universities in the country.
Additionally, if you wish to pursue a program in tourism abroad, then you are bound to get a higher salary as well as a larger pool of job opportunities to choose from. Therefore, it is best not to take rash decisions until you know exactly whether you want to pursue a career in tourism or not.
Dear Subhajit,
First and foremost, since hotel/hospitality sector is work-intensive sector, it becomes very crucial to get some training during the study period itself so as to give yourself some exposure to the industry standards and working style. So, you should always look for a degree which can offer you some practical training, and especially so if you are planning to work on-ground after completing your degree.
Secondly, fundamentally, an MBA degree should give knowledge of business administration and management, while an MSc degree is comparatively theoretical in nature which is apt for those seeking to go into advanced studies in the form of MPhil, PhD or teaching.
Finally, when it comes to pay package, etc., much more than your degree, would count the skills and knowledge you would have by the end of your degree programme. So, go for a degree which can give you the understanding and skills required for the industry.
You can consider these aspects, before choosing between these options.
Hope it helps.
All the best!

This is an emerging one jobs will not be ended for this because there will be a daily travellers all over the world. Without coaching placement it is highly impossible
Hi vivek
Let me tell you hard training does not mean you should leave the Degree course. If you have opt one of your choice you must not be worried for all of these. All of the industry are almost same and everyone has to go through difficult training period because initially everyone faces problem because of no experience to work in a proffessional environment .With the passage of time you would be normal .No need to be worried.Just focus on your skill set so that you might not have to face problem because of lack of knowledge.
All the best.
