JEE MAINS....SC CATEGORY....90 MARKS......PLZ GIVE ME AN IDEA OF MY RANK... WILL I GET NIT HAMIRPUR , NIT KURUKSHETRA , PEC CHANDIGARH????

Soumili Majumdar 7th Sep, 2020

Hello there,

The "marks vs percentile" changes every year depending on the difficulty of the paper, and the number of candidates appearing for it. Analysing the previous year data, for 90 marks, you will get around 94-95 percentile. Assuming that you will get 94 percentile, your All India Rank will be 52140 approximately. Since you belong to the SC category, your category rank will be around 5200 approximately.

Coming to your preferred colleges, the cut-off ranks were as follows:

NIT Hamirpur:

You can get Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering.

You can check the cut-off for all branches of NIT Hamirpur from here:

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-hamirpur

NIT Kurukshetra:

You can get Production and Industrial Engineering.

You can check the cut-off for all branches of NIT Kurukshetra from here:

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-kurukshetra/amp

PEC Chandigarh:

You can get Metallurgical Engineering.

You can check the cut-off rank from the link given below:

Also note that the cut-off rank changes every year depending on the difficulty of the paper, and the number of candidates appearing for it.

pdwords Student Expert 26th Jul, 2020
Hello,

CUCET is conducted for admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs, and syllabus of courses at each level differ, so you need to specify your query is regarding which course in particular,

I'm trying to provide you an answer based on the common sections such as English, Reasoning, Numerical Ability and General Knowledge.

For English, Wren and Martin is the best grammar book, Word Power Made Easy is good for vocabulary, read newspaper The Hindu everyday it will also help you in this section, for GK you can use Lucent's or Arihant's book, for Numerical Ability you can use RS Agarwal Quantitative Aptitide, and MK Pandey's Analytical Reasoning or RS Agarwal Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning can be used for Reasoning section.

This is just an answer to the common sections of courses, kindly refer to the syllabus for exact details, and also go through mock paper available at CUCET website and previous year papers as well.

I just want to know that I got 80 percentile in jee mains and belong to ST category I want my category rank please give me some idea following the last year trend

Harshit 26th Jul, 2020

Hey,

Percentile of 80 in JEE Mains would give you a rank of more than 2 lakh mostly it is not a good score to get admission. But as you belong to ST category you have a chance to get into a decent NIT,IIIT or any other government college.

You also read our article of calculating rank from percentile.

Hi I want to prepare for UPSC. Next year after 12th in 2021. If I start Indian Polity during my first year of graduation will the syllabus remain same even after2-3 years till I complete my graduation. Same for history, geography and other subjects except general knowledge . Is it a good idea ?

Deepika Student Expert 31st Aug, 2020

Hello aspirant,

The next big change that will happen would be the removal of optional subject from main exam.

However, I am of firm belief that one should not expect this or any other change before CSE 2022. Currently, with the corona pandemic, the government would want to avoid any issue where the government is seen in negative light. So even if yoy prepare certain subject content cant be changed so its all knowledge keep learning!

hope it helped.

According to the increased competition in jee mains 2020 spetember, how much marks will fetch 99 percentile? Are 200 marks enough? please give me a rough idea.

Gaurav 25th Jul, 2020
Hello Aspirant ,

As you know now a days NTA doesn't provides scores in percentage. From 2019, percentile is taken into account for the reflection of marks. There is total of 360 marks in which JEE main exam takes place. To touch the mile stone of 90 percentile 200 marks will not be enough. In order to be in 99 percentile category students have to bring above 325 marks out of 360 .

Hope it will help you.

in madras christian college there is only one option of bsc biotechnology that is "plant biology and plant biotechnology". is it good idea to do after bsc zoology honours? what syllabus comes under "plant biology & plant biotechnology" is it similar to botany? i dont want to do bsc in botany.

Saunkita Mallick 1st Sep, 2020

Hey, hope you are doing well!

I went through the website and due to some technical issue the syllabus link is not working. But I am still adding the link here, please check it time to time if it opens.

MCC syllabus (https://www.mcc.edu.in/images/IQAC/NAAC/Criteria1/M.Sc._Plant_Biology__Plant_Biotechnology.pdf)

Plant biology and botany are same. Both of these are studies on plants. Plant biology and botany focuses on the total plant kingdom.

But plant biotechnology consists of introduction of desirable traits into plants through genetic modification. So plant biotechnology is different from plant biology or botany.

And yes its definitely a good option after BSc in Zoology. But only if you are actually interested in the subjects and the study area.

Always pursue a course only if you fully are interested in it.

All the best!

I am completely broke at age 21 lost family, having responsibilities but no career relatives try to bully me,I just completed graduation but having no idea of future nor i am Rich enough to startup all new nor having business only option is to study and win but how can i a losely till date will win

belimhafsa13 23rd Jul, 2020
You're not a loosey, it's just in your mind. If at the age of 21, being broke, and after being bullied you still stand strong then you're already a winner.
All these relatives and bullies will fade away once you achieve something in life, and for that YOU have to believe in YOURSELF... Keep Working hard, if you still believe that you're a loser than just read the story of Abraham Lincoln... He was put down many times in life but he never stopped believing in himself and that belief made him the biggest winner.
