The application forms for the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are usually released in the months of September or near to October. However, it is very important to note that the exact dates may vary from year to year. To stay updated, I will recommend regularly checking the official website of the IIMs or the Common Admission Test (CAT) website, as CAT is the entrance exam for admission to the IIMs. They will provide all the necessary information regarding the application process and important dates.
Hope this helps you,
Lets take IIM Bangalore as a example-
Last date to apply for admission is January 31, 2024. IIM Bangalore revises 2024 admission policy; 40% weightage to personal Interview. IIMB is inviting applications for MBA-PGPEM & PhD Program and the last date to apply is January 25, 2024. IIM B NSR Pre-doc Admissions are open and the last date to apply is January 31, 2024.
With a fantastic score of 99.76 in the General category, you have an excellent chance of getting admission to various IIMs without work experience. While admission criteria can vary each year, some IIMs that you can consider are IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, and IIM Lucknow. These are some of the top IIMs that often have high cutoffs, but your score puts you in a strong position. Remember to check the specific admission requirements and cutoffs for each IIM to make an informed decision.
Yes, there are integrated BBA-MBA programs offered by IIM Indiore. These programs are designed for students who want to pursue a management education right after completing their 12th grade. The entrance exam for this is IPMAT. As for IIFT, they have their own entrance exam called IIFT Entrance Exam.
Hope this helps,
Hi!
The marks obtained by you in Class 10 and 12 will not hamper your chances to appear for the entrance examination. In order to appear for the CAT , candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates who belong to SC, ST, and PwD (PWD) category).
However, marks obtained by you in Class 10 and 12 will play a major role to get a shortlist for the WATPI/ GDPI rounds, and during your final selection. These scores will be used by business schools while calculating the composite score. Some business schools give a lot of priority to your Class 10 and 12 marks while some business schools don't even consider your past academic record during the selection process. Therefore, you have good chances to get admission in good MBA colleges subject to the condition that you must perform well in the entrance examination followed by the WATPI/ GDPI process.
Further, you can appear for any entrance examination such as CAT, XAT , etc. subject to the condition that you must meet the minimum eligibility criteria for that particular examination.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is the most important component to get admission to IIM Ahmedabad. In order to get admission at IIM A, you must obtain a good percentile in the CAT.
IIM Ahmedabad give consideration to a number of factors while giving an interview call. These factors include CAT score, Class 10, Class 12, and Bachelor's degree marks, work experience, academic, and gender diversity, etc.
As you belong to the ST category, your first priority should be to clear both the overall percentile of 60 and sectional percentile of 50 in all three sections individually to be eligible to get WATPI shortlist. However, this is just a minimum percentile and does not give you a guarantee to get WATPI shortlist. CAT score is not the only criteria but is one of the major criteria for admission.
The marks obtained by you in Class 10, Class 12, and Graduation, work experience, academic, and gender diversity will play a major role to get a shortlist for the WATPI process and your performance in the WATPI will play a major role during your final selection.
You have good chances of converting IIMs subject to the condition that you appear and clear the management entrance examination such as CAT / XAT/ SNAP / NMAT etc. followed by the WATPI or GDPI process. IIMs do not primarily want work experience. They give some extra points to candidates who have a valid work experience. Therefore, work experience is not mandatory. However, your internship experience will help you during the Personal Interview process. You must perform well during the CAT followed by the WATPI process. Your first priority should be to meet the overall and sectional percentile. IIM gives consideration to a lot of factors while giving an interview call to candidates. These factors include CAT score, Class 10, Class 12, and Bachelor's degree marks, work experience, academic, and gender diversity, etc.
