In Graduation
Hello there!!
Well IITs do not offer admission into management courses through GATE. CAT is used as the selection criteria.
Coming to NITIE, it offers a variety of techno management courses. I am attaching a link to the official document published by NITIE regarding the past 3 year cutoffs and eligibility criteria.

Hi Sukanya,
I am sorry, but a minimum of 60% marks is required in the undergraduate degree from a recognized University or Institution to get admission in VIT Vellore MBA. You got only 52% in graduation.
Hello Archana,
Yess you can take admission in commerce stream for graduation in st. Xavier's College,Kolkata.
The eligibility criteria are -
You must have Passed 10+2 with an aggregate of 60%.
Mathematics is necessary in intermediate to take admission in b.com.
Good luck,
Hope it helps :)
Dear Aspirant,
The decision you are taking is valid but it is also a path to pure handwork. It is often said that the base for commerce is set in the intermediate. After Science, it can be difficult to understand the various nuances involved in the field such as how is business done or basics of accounting. Economics in intermediate would help, if it is your option. Choose some professional course in B.Com (//B.Com) . Maths is the requirement of B.Com (//B.Com) . eligibility criteria.
In this case, I would suggest you to take a middle ground with a course like BBA which is focused on managerial skills and can be started from scratch in an easier way than B.Com (//B.Com) .
Hope this helps. All the best!

Hi,
It depends entirely on the company. Some companies keeps a criteria of 60-70% marks in graduation so that only best can apply while some other companies just see your performance in class 10 and class 12.
Most of time financial companies only ask for the past records while marketing companies do not consider your past records.
However, graduation marks may affect your placement.
Best Wishes
Hi Utkarsh,
Since you have decided that you will be going for CAT, taking a 1 year Gap will bring in on you a lot of questions and professors and recruiters who will be interviewing you will take that as a negative point since they would look for people who can manage both work and academics. I am telling you because you have a dip in class 12 marks and that will definitely fetch some questions which you have to answer tactfully. Adding onto it some more questions regarding the gap will not be favouring your chances of selection both for the institute as well as for any placement process which you will be seating for.
Nevertheless, I am going to post some colleges and their cut-offs and average package which you can get at the end of two years.

Its really futile to give the average package for IIM A,B,C since at that level you are bound to get a job with a hefty package. Now you an start preparing for CAT and try to aim other exams also like SNAP, XAT, TISS-NET, CMAT as there are several good B-Schools which will give you the same package like the above mentioned. It just opens the door way to a varied choices from which you can safely choose. 4-5 hours per day would be okay if you have no knowledge about aptitude and reasoning else if you have already practiced, 2-3 hours per day would be sufficient to crack any MBA entrance exam. Pracice a lot of mocks as several exams will test your time management skills too besides your knowledge.
I hope I have been able to solve your query. Do write to us if you face any problem regarding your preparation. All the best!!!
