What is BL degree How many years this course takes after 12th standard?

Shubhangi sinha 6th Jan, 2020

Hello sir,

It is LLB.

It is one of the law courses.

Its duration is generally 3 years but if you want to take up the integrated course, then you can get admission to the 5 year integrated programme after the completion of 10+2 exams.

The LLB course is now available in two formats for two different audiences - 5-year integrated LLB course for Class 12 pass-outs and a 3-year LLB course for graduates of any stream.

If a candidate is a Class 12 student or has already passed out, he should go for five-year law without giving any thought to the three-year course in future. There’s no doubt that both the three-year and five-year courses should co-exist in an equitable manner; this is in the best interest of legal education and profession.

Some top law schools, including faculties like Faculty of Law, DU and Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) continue to only offer the three-year LLB course.

Most new generation law schools, i.e., those set up in last 10-15 years including the National Law Universities (NLUs) have excluded the three-year LLB from their offerings, and have marched ahead only with 5-year LLB course. However, Jindal Global Law School , among new generation law schools, is an exception and offers both 5-year BA LLB and three-year LLB.

Good luck,

Hope it helps :)

i have scored 80% in class 10 and 55% in 12 and 80% in graduation will get a call from iim institute

Nihal Kumar Gupta Student Expert 5th Jan, 2020

Hello Ankit,

You have secured a good score in 10th and graduation. But it is not enough to get into IIMs institute. You also have to secure a good percentile in CAT exam also.  You have to secured more than 99.5+ percentile, then you will be definitely get a call for the top 3 IIMS, that is IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad.

After the declaration of the result the merit list will be made  to call the candidate for the interview round. The merit list comprises of your CAT percentile, your graduation marks, your work experience, your 10th and 12th marks. Also, if you have secured more than 95+ percentile, then you get call from the others IIM for interview and Written Aptitude test. As you have If you have score above 98+ percentile i.e IIMS ,you will have a good probability of getting calls from old IIMs like IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, IIM Shillong, IIM Jammu, IIM Sirmaur.

Once you get call from IIM, you have to go through the WAT exam and interview process. On clearing both an another merit list will be prepared, which will select you to get enter IIM.

from which college in can get call from at 93.84 percentile in cat 2019, with no work ex. and 7.2 in 10th.....78.4 in 12th...and 59.61 in graduation secetionals........62 in verbal......99.5 in LRDI......92.5 in quant

Soumya Kanta Sarkar 4th Jan, 2020

First of all, A Big Congratulations to you for securing a decent percentile. I hope you are satisfied with your percentile and taking that into account, I am proceeding forward with my answer.

You really have a great LRDI and Quant Score but due to slightly lower Verbal score, you might be missing out on most of the IIM’S qualifying sectional percentiles. However, you might expect a call from IIM Sirmaur, IIM Amritsar, IIM Jammu, IIM Bodhgaya and IIM Ranchi(HR course). Besides that, there are several other great colleges which will not take into account your sectional scores are listed below:

Colleges

Average Package(Lakhs Per Annum)

Xavier Institute of Management

13.5

MDI, Gurgaon

19.17

IIT Kharagpur

19

Goa Institute of Management

11.22

T A Pai Institute of Management

11.06

IFMR, Chennai

9

IIT Kanpur

10.48

Fore School of Management

10.8

IMT Ghaziabad

12.5

BIM Trichy

10

Though this is not a complete list of colleges, but you can expect a call from these colleges with your CAT score.

Next, what you need to do is to get yourself gear up your preparation for Group Discussion, Case Discussions, Written Ability Test and Personal Interviews. The following four things won’t be followed all together. Some colleges may have only WAT & PI. Others may follow other ways of selection. For Group Discussions, you should be good at speaking in English. Beside your communication skills, you should be noted on your eye contacts and your ability to moderate a GD. For Case Analysis, try to get some idea on “SWOT & PESTEL” analysis which will add you some brownie points. For WAT & PI, read newspapers daily and having a quick writing habit.

You might be asked questions on your average Verbal score. Try to frame an answer to it before hand.

Another thing that you need to keep in mind that if you are not going for a dedicated specialisation from the very first year, then try to do an initial reading on the basics of Marketing, Finance, Operations, Analytics and Human Resources. Though you will be going through each and every introductory courses in detail when you will join any program but if you need to get an upper hand, you need to prepare before hand. If you are an engineering graduate, try to learn the basics of accounting and economics before joining as that will be helpful for you to compete with your commerce peers who have joined the same curriculum.

I hope I have answered your query. All the best!!!

i have scored 58.5 percentile in CAT and 90.5 percentile in MAT, in 10th i got 9.6 cgpa equivalent to 91%, in 12th i got 91% from commerce, and in graduation i have 69.6%, please guide me to the right path, should i prefer distance mba or regular and which institutes would be good for that?

Nihal Kumar Gupta Student Expert 4th Jan, 2020

Hi Pradip,

You have a good academic record in 10th and 12th. But it is not enough to get into IIM for MBA course. To get into top IIM you need to have a percentile above 99.5+. And to get other IIM , you need to have a CAT percentile of 95+. As you have secured only 58.5 percentile in CAT you would only get private college. On the percentile secured by you in MAT exam, you will get some good colleges but not IIM. The colleges you get are:

KIIT College of management Bhuveshwar, JIMS Rohini, ITM Business school Navi Mumbai. To get IIM, give more one year and try to secure above 95+ percentile.

To know more about the colleges you get you can also use careers360 college predictor link given below:

I scored 59.2% in 10th, 56% in 12th, 48% in graduation (b. Com) and I belong to sc category. Can I get a call from top iims? If I score 90+ percentile in cat.

Yashu Shrivastava 4th Jan, 2020

Hello Vishal

As you have mentioned your academics score, you have below than average marks in your 10+2+3.So at 90% with SC category,it is really hard to get top IIMs because of your low academic marks, but you have a chance to get call from some baby or new IIMs,also there are many good colleges where academic score does not matter much.

Hope It Helps

Good Luck!!!
