is maths mandatory in 12 th board for iisc Bs Ms ug course or qualifying KVPy or neet is enough criteria

Yash Dev Student Expert 12th Mar, 2020
Hello student as admission in IISC BS course IS Also through Jee main and Jee advance just like for the admission in B.tech course. So you need to full fill the Jee eligibility criteria you must have mathematics in your class 12 as eligibility criteria says - Candidates must passed or appearing class 12 with physics chemistry and mathematics with minimum 75 percent marks aggregate from a recognized board.
Application for jee main April examination starts from 07th of February and extended till 12th of March 2020.
NEET eligibility criteria is not enough for admission in IISC BS course as admission is only through Jee Advance

The IISc website states that I need to pass 12th/PUC in 2020/2019 in order to be eligible for admission. I passed my 12th in 2018 & I still have my 3rd attempt of JEE Main in 2020. If I score 250+/300 this year, will I still not be eligible for admission into IISc just because I passed 12th in 2018?

Yash Dev Student Expert 10th Mar, 2020
Hello student I'm sorry to inform you but no you're not eligible as IISC is like a sister college of IIT and the eligibility on numbers of attempts are same as like IIT which is - candidates can appear only in Jee advance two consecutive years one in which they appear for class 12 and another in next year.
Eligibility - candidates must passed or appearing class 12 with physics chemistry and mathematics with minimum 75 percent marks aggregate from a recognized board.
Application for jee main April examination starts from 07th of February and extended till 12th of March 2020

I passed my 12th in 2018 with 96%. Am I eligible for admisiion to BITS Pilani, IISERs, IIIT-Hyderabad, IISc, IIST, IIEST? Which one is better for me from among the ELIGIBLE ONES?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 8th Mar, 2020

hi,

see as per your score you are eligible to apply in all institute, you have the qualifying marks criteria, however bits admission process is basis on score in bitsat exam, however you are not eligible to give bit sat, since you have passed 12th in 2018. now coming to iiits iiest shivpur, admission is basis on jee main score, which you are eligible to apply, since jee main exam can be attempted 3 times starting from the year of passing of 12th course . iisc does not offer engineering courses it has bs-ms dual degree course which is done on the basis of jee advance exam or jee main score , same goes for iist, since admission is done on basis of jee advance score,  you are not also eligible to apply for jee advance exam this year.

Can we get into IISC through our NEET scores of 500+ in NEET 2020? Is there no private seats in iisc?

Jyotirmoy Banik 3rd Mar, 2020

Hi Damitha ,

IISC is one of the best universities in India for research activities . Students can apply for admission in IISC through national level exams like KVPY , JEE ADVANCED and NEET . After applying they have their own procedure of selection . Now coming to your question specifically , the answer will be no . You can't get into an eminent institute like IISC with just a 500+ NEET score . Even 500+ NEET score doesn't assure you a government MBBS seat either . As per my knowledge there is no private seats in IISC . For getting admission in IISC firstly you should have very good rank in NEET or JEE ADVANCED or KVPY and then again you have to prove yourself in their selection procedure or interview maybe . All the best .
