hai thanks the answer o iisc b I do need about NEST how many students appear for Nest exam how is it different from Mains and advanced does preparing for mains help for Nest the total number of seats is said to around 200 Are there any other core research centres who admit +2 student

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 28th Oct, 2019
Hello,

The National Entrance Screening Test  (popularly known as NEST) is an annual college entrance examination in India, conducted for admission into the National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar (NISER) and the Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. These two institutes use NEST as a sole criterion for admission to their undergraduate programs.

As of 2018, the total intake of NISER and UM-DAE CBS is 200+2 students and 45+2 students respectively (where two seats in each college are reserved for students belonging to the state of Jammu and Kashmir).

The NEST question paper has five sections. The first section, which is compulsory for all candidates, includes general questions. The next four sections includes questions on (1) Biology, (2) Chemistry, (3) Mathematics and (4) Physics. Candidates may opt to answer any three of the four sections if they are willing to get admission in CBS, otherwise they have to answer from all the sections if they are willing to get in the merit list of NISER. All sections carry equal marks. The questions are aimed at testing the comprehension and analytic ability of the candidates. The questions are of objective type with four answers given for each question. There may only be one relatively correct answer for each question. Wrong answers are awarded negative marks .

Syllabus of jee mains and nest are to some extent same. The level of question asked in NEST involves thinking and some calculation so its one level tougher than particularly jee mains.
Though NEST can be considered a bit tougher than jee mains but JEE advance is a lot tougher than NEST so if you are preparing for JEE rigorously then you can perform well in NEST regardless of seats intake.
Just keep one thing in mind that for cracking NEST your knowledge concepts need to be very strong .

I hope this helps

What is the JEE main cutoff I must obtain to join IISc Bangalore?

Ronak Gala Student Expert 28th Oct, 2019

The general category cutoff for IIISC BANGALORE in 2016 was 295 marks and in 2017 it was around 280 marks. Marks keep fluctuating year to year as they depend on various factors like number of candidates appearing and also the paper level. So you can rely on ranks. You approximately need general rank under 1-300. So actually you need to be a lot dedicated and focused if you want to get into IISC BANGALORE.

to get admission in iisc you need to qualify in either kvpy or neet and jee main exam. as cutoff scores are different for different exam, it is really impossible to predict. however scoring around 90+ in kvpy has great chances for selecting in bsc course in iisc.

IISC Bangalore Vs iiit Hyderabad which is good for CSE with Ai and ml

rehan18alam Student Expert 17th Oct, 2019

Dear Aspirant,

IISc Bangalore, on any day. IISc is the best institute for research in India and both the topics you have mentioned are fall under the cap of research. IISC is even better than IIT-Bombay let alone IIIT-Hyderabad. IISC is a research centric institution and you'll see research going there up close. AI and ML are the hot topics in research in the field of computer science today and if you are given a choice between IISc bangalore and IIIT Hyderabad, go for the IISc.

Admission in IISc is through the exam GATE.

You could read more about it here: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/how-prepare-for-gate-computer-science-engineering
