Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
There is not any particular advantage of AITH kanpur being near to IIT kanpur as these two colleges are not related to each other on any account. However, you can get to visit to IIT kanpur on their annual fests and also attend the workshops that are held there. Hope this helps.
See both colleges top college in their category. Both branch is also good in their own. You can't differentiate between them just by some facts.
It should be completely dependent on your choice and what you like. If you like analog electronics and digital , then VLSI is best for you. But if you like and you have good knowledge in electromagnetic theory and antenna communication then RF microwave is best for you.
Placement wise both college are same. But being IIT IITK attracts more companies.
But it is completely upto you. Where should you go. If you have no choice at all, then go for IIT KANPUR.
Thank you.
Hi dear,
Hope you are doing well!
Now let's go through your question.
As you will be knowing that if you will clear the cutoff specified by IIT Kanpur/BHU shall be considered for the admission process. But remember that not all the candidates who clear the cutoff may get admission in IIT Kanpur courses.
And the final selection of the candidates shall be based on the components specified the institute.
Moreover, for some courses, IIT Kanpur/BHU may conduct a separate written test and interview to select the aspirants.
The minimum rank you have to secure to get IIT-K is somewhere around 8k-10k & for IIT-BHU is 9k-13k(approx) in JEE Advance.
Thank You & All the best!
hello Sandeep,
As per the resources and analysis of previous year the approximate cutoff for getting a seat into IIT Kanpur for SC category is as follows:
cutoff for sc category:-
course name closing rank
aerospace engg 812
biological science and bioengineering 1735
chemical engg 887
civil engg 698
computer science engg 74
Electrical engg 216
material science engg 1465
mechanical engg 414
for qualifying in jee advance a sc category candidate need to score minimum 17.6% marks.
hope this may help you.
Hi Ritik!
Let me guess, your cleared the JEE Advanced 2019 and want to know whether civil engg is your thing and you're deciding your future in terms of moolah which you may or may not make inspite of joining a so called "good" branch. It all depends on your ability to excel regardless of what you choose to study so please dude stop being the "neighbourhood uncle/aunty" who judge you by what you would be supposedly making 4 years down the line.
Its also upon your interest. If you like computers and want a job in IT company in future, you can go for IIITA. But you will miss IIT kanpur like college life and an iitian tag. So its all upon you whether you want to work in non core sector with an iitian tag or in a IT sector with a high pay job.
Please upvote if this was helpful to you.
Thank you and good luck.
Hello,
Ritik IIT Kanpur is always the best and above any college to choose, but coming to your subjects in iit kanpur b.s. chemistry ,job will be decent but not that high as a CSE branch in punjab engineering college.PEC is good college for CSE with a decent placement,so you may go for pec cse but you have a dream for iit and passionate about the subject than surely go for iit .All the best
Hello murali,
Go for iit kharagpur electrical over iit kanpur as both colleges are equally good but kharagpur has upper hand in strong alumni network plus campus life is better than kanpur. Placement wise both are more or less same kharagpur has an upper hand due to strong alumi network.
Hello ,
As your query is you have all India rank 5386 in JEE advance and you are from general category and you are confused in between taking admission in IIT Kanpur for bioengineering or IIT BHU for chemical engineering so first of all congratulations as you have cleared the entrance exam now I would like to tell you that in my opinion you should go for IIT Kanpur bioengineering because as per the course of bioengineering is concerned it is in trend and the job opportunity for the same is really high but at the same point even chemical engineering branch is also nice based on job opportunities but still the campus, infrastructure, and placement if all the scenario are taken in count then obviously you should take IIT Kanpur but at last it is all about your interest.
I hope your query is solved.
Dear Aspirant,
The choice is not simple in your case as the branches are quite different and have their own reputation other than college. It is a famous saying that "prefer branch over college", and if this is so, then choose the branch of your interest. If you are interested in coding, computers, softwares, etc., then go for IIT GN(CSE). However, if you are more inclined towards machines and mathematics, etc then go for Mechanical.
CSE as a branch, undoubtedly have an upper hand over mechanical, or for that matter better than any branch. So if you do not have any preference, then go for CSE. It has better career opportunities than most of the other branches.
In summary, it is all about your interest and not about college, if you are comparing colleges like these. However, IIT Kanpur is definitely a good college than IIT Gandhinagar, but if you are not interested in mechanical or not interested in any of the branch then go for IIT GN.
Hope this helps.
Thank You and all the best.
