Hello Aspirant,
See very first thing I would like to clear you is that IITs do not have Home state quota and they don't consider JEE-Main score for admissions instead JEE-Advance rank is considered for admission and there is no any percentile system in JEE-Advance.
As we go through the latest cut-off of 2020 then it shows that the closing rank for General category was 12762 for Biological Sciences (5 Years, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (Dual Degree)) branch in IIT Madras.
With regards to JEE-Advance 2021 if you secure your AIR in JEE-Advance under top 12700 then there are good chances for you to get into IIT Madras.
You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.
To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your JEE-Main score, category, and state you can use JEE-Main College Predictor :-

Hi Praveen,
The answer to your question could have been more specific had you given options of other universities to compare with. Nevertheless, speaking generally, the online data science course created by IIT Madras has a fantastic curriculum, but at the same time a big problem lies in the fact that it is online and is a bit expensive compared to other online courses. Also, they have specified that they provide job assistance and not job guarantee.
Another demerit of online courses is that, you'll lack a proper communication with your faculty and peers which prohibits good networking. This point could still have been taken down had they lowered down the fees or provided at least job assurance.
Keeping all these points in mind, I feel, taking up the course might not be such a wise decision. Perhaps you can browse other online courses, free YouTube tutorials and wait and see how their placement goes and based on that you can actually take up the course in future.
Also do feel free to check out some free data science courses from the link below:

Hope this was helpful.
As you have not mentioned the course in which you are seeking admission in IIT Madras or IIT Bombay so it is little bit difficult to guide you an accurate information but if we go through your profile then it shows that you are an engineering aspirant so you might be interest in admission to B.Tech course. If I am wrong then please correct me in the comment section below I would be helping you further with relevant information.
Now for admission to B.Tech courses in any of the IITs is taken solely on the basis of rank secured in JEE-Advance. JEE-Advance is an engineering entrance examination conducted by any of the IITs in rotation every year for admission to B.Tech courses offered in IITs. To be eligible for JEE-Advance one needs to sit for JEE-Main which is conducted four times in an year by NTA and should qualify in JEE-Main with qualifying cut-off percentile which are expected for 2021 like :-
Note that in above table it is not the actual cut-off for JEE-Main 2021 but expected on the basis of previous year's analysis. You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-

Hello student
hope you are doing great. As per your query I would glad to inform you that data science is not a stream ,it is subfield of computer science(kind of specialization) . Degrees are mostly done in streams where subjects are data science ,AI are taught so that student can have muitple options to adopt in carreir . In online data science course, they mainly focus on data science only so the duration is short but the sylllabus is same ,infact online course makes your fundamentals very strong
Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future

hi,
see iit b.sc program is online mode of learning. students may complete the course at their space of time taking 3-6 years. however it can not be considered as full time course. most of the university in India requires full time b.sc course graduates to take admission in masters course. so if you get admission in any college for full time b.sc course you should go for it. simultaneously you may do the iit madras b.sc online course to gain proficiency in data science.
