Yes until last year IIT Madras is one of the only IIT which accepted the score of MAT exam for giving admission in their college. But this year no announcement has been made but probably it will continue accepting MAT marks. Along with IIT Delhi, it has also started giving admission to non-engineers students.

For IIT Madras the eligibility criteria are you need to have at least 60% in graduation for general category students and 55% for SC/ST students.

Parameters used by IIT Madras for giving admission to students are MAT score, Past academic performance, Work experience, Diversity and gender. MAT score again has around 55-60% weightage on the merit list.

The cut off is generally 96-96% , so your score is much more than the cutoff so you are likely to get the call but prepare yourself well for the interview.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members. The hostels are administered by warden appointed by Director of the institute. There are a facility of single rooms and double and triple rooms, however, in the first year students will not get the single room. They can get a single room from the second year onward. There are approx 20 hostels in the IIT Madras.
