Indian Institute of Technology Madras
Dear B Sumit
As you had mentioned your rank AIR 315 , then by looking into previous years cutoff for
Control and computing specialization is 510 General.
OBC 459
SCST 340
So by seeing last year cutoff you should get admission into IIT Bombay.
For IIT Madras the General cutoff for control and instrumentation is 779
So you get a strong chance to get any of them with your, favourite specialization.
Congratulations IItian.
Hello.
This minimum percentile game is tricky. There are things that you need to keep in mind:1) which IIM are you looking at? - For IIM Ahmedabad your academic qualifications are not very important. A 65+ in each of X, XII and graduation (if grads>70m, then X or XII could be between 60 and 65 as well) will ensure that you clear the minimum academic rating score. Thus, all that matters is that you clear the cut-off (99.65+). Others like IIM B need you to have a decent academic background2) Your academic background - Say you are one of those who has scored 90+ in X and XII and 80+ in graduation, then even a 96-97 percentile might fetch you a call from IIM B, K, I and the likes. If your acads are okayish, then aim for a 98.5+ and you stand a chance to get a call from at least one of the IIMs.
Hope this is helpful.
Good luck.
Hello aspirant,
By far IIT kharagpur and IIT Bombay are considered the best aeronautics engineering colleges according to multiple surveys. Then ofcourse are iit Kanpur and IIT Madras. To be true prospect of aeronautics and aerospace in India is pretty low if you are not in one of the above mentioned institution and even if one manages to get through with jee and get into these institution only the top rung of students get good jobs. Ofcourse there is a lot of prospect in the aerospace engineering field as far as research and development is considered abroad and in india too in institution like ISRO . Hindustan aeronautics in India recruits aeronautic engineer. I would also like to mention if u would like to study aeronautics or aerospace engineering. And you do a good bit of research on this.
Thankyou

Hello Jaswanth, On the basis of 2018 cutoff for IIT Madras, You need to be rank around 550 at least. Because the 2018 closing rank for mechanical department OBC category candidate was 581 and the opening rank was 269. It cant be said how much marks you should bring because JEE advanced marks change every year.
