MTECH is a two years long PG course. The M.Tech course has tremendous specialization according to one's undergraduate degree in engineering. However, anyone who has graduated with a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology is eligible to take up this course. The M.Tech eligibility criteria include you must have passed the qualifying examinations of all semesters in B.Tech/B.E You have to write a relevant entrance examination like State PGCET, GATE specific university entrance tests, etc., based on which you will be ranked and selected for the relevant streams. Additionally, in the M.Tech course, you must get the minimum cut-off marks in their undergraduate. There is no M.Tech age limit for admission.

So as you have mentioned that you have done B.voc so in that case you cannot pursue Mtech, you need either btech or Msc degree to take admission.

Since you mentioned that you have been a mechanical engineer and even have much experience in that field so i would suggest you to look forward in your filed because you will be switching your stream from mechanical to software industry and it would mean that you will have to start from the scratch.
